If you like a controller, then get a controller for your pc. If you like playing on a TV, then hook up your pc to your TV. Where are your arguments for consoles now?

Because USB controllers tend to suck, or are extremely expensive. Consoles are a world easier to setup anyway, the games for them are designed using continuous settings and hardware, you have to update your PC atleast once a year if you want games to even run remotely smoothly.
While I'm at it, games are made for a target platform, if you hook up a USB controller for a PC port of a game the controls are probably going to be god awful, if they even work at all. A lot of games made for consoles are -made- for consoles, many don't even have a PC port. I'm not gonna go out and buy a Ratchet and Clank game and buy a controller just to go along with it.
I'm pretty much always on my PC playing games and I can still say you're sounding completely ignorant. Next you're gonna say, why doesn't everyone just play games on their TV or watch TV on their monitor. People that try either tend to get really terrible results for a lot of reasons.

I got a logitech dualshock knockoff controller for about $25, and it works just great. And micorsoft sells xbox controllers for pc, I can't see that being a problem. They make both. And who plays rachet and clank and little big planet and games like that anyways? 5 year olds? They should be doing something different.

I've noticed kids tend to throw the age argument around a lot, the 40 year olds buying each pokemon game that comes out seem to have a bigger consumer value than you I guess. I personally had fun with Ratchet and Clank games, God of War, racing games and even some gems like Okami, if you want to get some cheap controllers and pretend you're playing a console infront of your computer monitor, doesn't bother me.
If age is really that important to you, 5 year olds(or 15 year olds) seem to play "trendy" games like MW3, BF3, so on, I've personally seen that one.

Actually the 2900xt and it was only released a few months after the Ps3 and it is just a tiny bit slower then the 3870 and is equal to the 4670.
Plays at a higher quality and higher resolution for only 3 fps slower then what the consoles play at.
Consoles play at 720p with 30fps with lower then low quality.
You stick a little overclocking on it and you could play a modern game on a 4 year old graphics card just fine.
You could argue that the Xbox 360 was released in 05 that is true devs just don't put the optimizations in PC hardware that is put into Console releases to allow a computer from 05 to play modern games.
In the short term consoles are cheaper. But add 150$ onto the price of a console and you can get a Llano computer that can play Skyrim and Bf3. Most people end up buying a 400$ PC on top of a console any way so why not spend that much from the start on one system.

You don't have to "pretend" to be playing on a console. My friend bought an xbox controller for his pc because racing games are more fun on a controller than mouse or keyboard. And it works just great for him. And I said that ratchet and clank is unpopular because it is, it is a tiny market share, very few people play it. All major games are fine for the pc. And there are more pc only titles than console only, so if you are looking for exclusives, there you go. Unless of course ratchet and clank is your lifeblood.

I was more aiming at the fact that if you have an xbox and you buy an xbox game you know it's going to run at a relatively smooth setting. PC's will always pack more punch than a console unless you -really- fail to update your hardware, but if you consistantly want to max the visuals on each new game coming out(especially at high resolution) using older hardware tends to give pretty poor results.
Honestly I've had more than a few games I had to completely screw around with to even get running in a fashion I was happy with, even things like drivers can cause problems to certain setups. Realistically, if you're just looking for a "pretty" game, you're not gonna look to a console, consoles are best suited to games developed specifically for them. I absolutely HATE playing "trendy" games like MW3(or any shooter) on a console.
Although we all know how much they boned skyrim for the PC by designing the UI for the console.

No, that's exactly what you're doing is "pretending" to be playing on a console, in most cases if a game is designed for anything but a mouse and keyboard, it's because it's a PC port of a console game. Even racing games tend to offer mediocre functionality for after market controllers or even the fancy racing wheels or flight sim controllers.
I can't even begin to understand why you'd say there are more "PC only titles than console only" consoles were the original PC for gaming and there has been hundreds of thousands of games(all the way up to the PS1 era) that never even saw daylight on a computer tower. That said you're also comparing the PC as basically "the free internet" against controlled developers like consoles, obviously the PC has more titles because it's a much wider platform than a single game console.
I'm not sure why me saying "Ratchet and Clank" got you so fixated either, there are literally hundreds of thousands of titles that are console only and always will be console only, since the dawn of games not that long ago. You may as well be saying "there's more cars than planes so planes are unpopular."

Hundreds of thousands ok.
And I still don't get why you say that aftermarket controllers don't work well. They do. Or else they wouldn't sell.

Works well is subjective and again, depends on the game, I've played games designed for a mouse and keyboard that have "gamepad support" generally the same controller as a PS3 or an XBOX and they were absolute garbage to play with.
Don't get me wrong, you can fire up an old n64 game on an emulator with a usb controller and get some good results(and a much better looking game than the original.) But in many cases you really are just trying to "emulate" the original console.
Skyrim would be a good example actually, you'd think it'd have been designed for the PC but the UI was pretty much completely made for the console, so when you actually fire it up on the PC it's like plugging in one of those "gamepad supported" games, it makes you want to hit your head against the wall how unwieldy it is.
Saying they wouldn't sell if they don't work well is silly anyway, people buy anything, Apple proves that every day with some new expensive gimmick they invent.

Anyway this is all getting a bit offtopic, I'm not sure why you're so set on proving me wrong or something, fact is games are designed around their control peripheral and if consoles went extinct we wouldn't be buying USB wii controllers and analog stick controllers just to play certain PC games, they'd go extinct for the general populace.
It's like racing wheels and flight sim joysticks, barely a tiny fraction of the population even owns either, and they're generally VERY expensive(couple hundred dollar range.) Analog controllers could have went that way if they were as unique.
PC's make consoles, PC wins.

Wii U FTW
Racing games, platformers, action-adventure games, a lot of them are just much better with an analog stick.
Wii might have been fun if the sensor didn't suck and the games weren't all workout gimmicky crap except for a few gems like Okami.
