i come from a small town, and im one of the smartest people in my class, well we were all sitting around talking when somone walks into the room and we get talking about computers. heres how it goes
Me: Yeah, my laptop sucks, imma get a good gaming rig and water cool it.
Kid from other class (lets call him bill): Watercool? i never knew computers were water-proof!
me: (at this point the class is quiet) Well, watercooling, if installed right, quieter, and better in cooling
Everyone in class: Yeah, lol bill, how didnt you know that?
but wait, theres more.
Bill: well, what kind of computer will you buy?
me: ill just build my own, its cheaper that way.
Bill: LoL your ssssoooooooooooooooooooo stupid, you should buy a Alianware. there the best. and never break
me: you do know alianwares would be cheaper if made of solid gold than how they currently make them, right?
Bill: lOl but you get the BeSt computer
me: there over prices, defective, break easily, and have **** for tech support.
Bill and rest of class: But if there so expensive thet cant be bad!
i kicked over a desk and left school for that day.
Oh, I just remembered:
I recently taught some kids how to bypass a webpage blocker to download Minecraft. I was then scolded by the teacher for teaching kids how to "hack".
While scanning throughout this topic and laughing my ass off, what is the ad for? ALIENWARE! Sorry i have no awesome stories to contribute but i do know people who do not know what a computer is, yes in this day and age crazy right?
I'm a little late on this story but a few weeks ago when i was still in school one of the kids in my class who is pretty tech savvy started a conversation about how he needed some help building a budget gaming rig.
Him: I have about 700 to spend and i don't need an OS, keyboard, or mouse.
Me: Alright I can make a good build for that price.
So i make a good build on pcpatpicker.
The first thing he points out is that i only got an evo for the cpu cooler. He then went on to explain that he wanted the h100 and AT LEAST 32GB of RAM with the ASUS maximus IV extreme and the corsair 800D. I kept telling him that that wasn't going to happen because all of that is waaay too expensive and useless. He kept trying to argue with me and eventually i showed him the price of the build he was looking to get and it was almost double his budget lol
My grandmother was over at our house, and was trying to use my dad's computer to check her email or something, but not being familiar with computers other than her own, she kept clicking the files icon to the taskbar, not firefox. This went on for about 10 minutes of her trying to "find" yahoo, until she finally told me our "internet button" wasnt working. I then walked over and clicked on firefox. Not that bad though, because she is a 60 something year-old woman, so thats expected.

At least she used the mouse correctly. And made an account on the internet. Props for grandma.
I was at the school computer lab, and there was a note on the screen saying this computer was broken, so don't use it. Well I looked behind it, and the power switch on the psu was flipped off. I turned it on and started using the computer. The libarian came in and told me that it wasn't working, and I said, "yeah it is", and she just walked off.
My friend today was saying that Alienware was good, so I told him how he was horribly wrong. He realizes his error, only to say that they're fine for servers solely because they have 32 GB of RAM. He pisses the hell out of me.
Situation 1:
Over at a friend's house. Friend's mom says the touchpad on her laptop isn't working, I volunteered to be tech support. I walk over to the laptop. I press the touchpad toggle on/off button that most laptops have. I walk away.
Apparently her son, who works in an IT department and fancies himself a quote "computer wizard" couldn't figure that one out.
Situation 2:
A few friends and I are building a computer for our program at school. Our teacher moves us out to the hallway basically to show off to the parents who happened to be touring that day. Here are a few things they said:
"Are you building a CPU?"
"Is that an Alienware?" (we have a fancy case)
Guy who thinks he knows a lot about computers: "That doesn't look like it has proper cooling." (Several air penetrators, default case fans, liquid cooling, etc)
I got a chance to flip through our yearbook (I didn't buy one because they suck and are overpriced) and I went to the "Biggest Techies" section. I knew everyone there and they don't know jack about computers, all they have is that rudimentary knowledge that most people have.
I can't stand the yearbook, because only the friends of the yearbook class get to be in it.
Someone I know just bought an Alienware, and then complained about not having money to buy a monitor. I was a little bit annoyed by his stupidity after this and I posted saying he should got a custom build because it would have been much better value. THEN an alienware fanboy comes along and starts preaching about how his alienware netbook(some 1st gen i3, 4GB ram and GT540) that cost him £1000 was totally worth it and that custom built PC's are **** because they apparently have no warranty. I didn't even bother replying, I just ragequit.
Lol, I would rather have a warranty for each part than have a single warranty for the entire computer.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

I bet it's mind control.
