Skyrim newest patch I think it is in beta still. But the update replaced x87 code with SSE3 or 2 I forget.
Anyway Bulldozer very slow at x87 while consoles are very faster. x87 is slow old code and should have been replaced AMD just started dropping support.
Anyway to my point.
Bulldozer gets worse frames then Phneom2.
Well not that it is really important but I'm curious how Bulldozer compares with the new patch.
Also make sure you got high speed ram with that makes quite a difference.
No Bulldozer does like Ram bandwidth so does Llano. AMD uses a faster memory controller then Intel so it can take advantage of faster ram.
Sorry, no offense to you was meant. I thought you might just be messing with wolffe because he got a bulldozer, and so he deserves to spend extra on ram that does nothing for his system.

IIRC, he already has something like 16 GBs of DDR3 1866.
How does everyone know so much about this guy? Was he like fm87 but a while ago? Everyone knows about him and his pc specs and everything.
He was like Battlekid, if you remember him, but for AMD. However, he wasn't so annoying. IMO, he's a little bit elitist, no offense. He built a mid-range PC, made a thread about it, and for some reason it grew huge.

What was the thread called? I want to see it now, lol.
High-clocked RAM has become progressively less important as new CPU architectures have come along. Sandy Bridge in particular doesn't seem to be affected greatly by RAM frequency or latency, although it might have more of an effect on AMD platforms (haven't seen any specific benchmarks myself).
EDIT:
I don't think it's about a "faster memory controller", it's more about the CPU architecture being less efficient in it's usage of memory bandwidth. I can understand that APUs would be more dependent on that though since GPUs are very memory bandwidth intensive and an APU uses system memory rather than having dedicated GDDR5 VRAM. I don't think it would have any bearing on the CPU side of performance though.
Well not faster memory controller more of supports faster memory. Intel memory controller only supports up to 1333 AMD bulldozer has support up to 1600 stock.
Another reason is 8 cores is going to need more bandwidth then 4 cores.
PileDriver supports 1866 and quadchannel stock.

Ha, I remember Battelekid.. Every god damn thread he posted in, he had to at least mention macs.. And didn't Wolfe put a 6970 into his build? Otherwise, it'd be safe to call his build "high-end"? Can't remember correctly, but I remember seeing his video about his build. All I remember was that he had a HAF X chassis.
I think he upgraded to a much better mobo and RAM later, but after over 10+ pages of threads, I couldn't look any further.
People like him are the original reason I quit posting on the forums but I noticed the forums improved with people like Fm87 posting so I started posting again.
The community here is defiantly better then it ever was. Sure we have some raging fanbois but they are a minority now.

Good thing you stayed around. You provide very good input.
Please tell me you're joking.
In some tests, Intel performs over 50% better.
Well....that already happens with Mac.

Troll? Unless bulldozer supports and benefits from high clocked ram.

it seems like it does, kinda reminds me of oversize llano minus the good bits heres some benches on it

Yup after 1700 posts here I am turning troll.

It's been a long time. Let me go see if I can dig it up...

Oh, it seems I was wrong. He had DDR2 RAM.
EDIT: God damn internal server error.
Dear god that thread made my brain hurt. Couldn't get past 6 1/2 pages, my god why?
Why is he using ddr2 and am2+ in 2011?
