do i need to adjust my voltage for overclocking? can i turn up the memory and core voltages all the way up on the stock voltage? also, how do i get trixx to save my settings? should i just save a profile, and then select that profile when i want the overclocking? ok, thats all i can think of right now, and sorry for the bad grammar and short post, i had a much better and longer one, but i think i pushed ctrl and enter at the same time and that somehow deleted all my typing.
I don't have the same card but the default voltage is fine for me, so I am guessing no. I would be careful when changing the memory frequencies you don't have very much lee-way and if you turn it up too high it will stop working and you will have to unplug your computer.
im using trixx by sapphire, and the card has 1 fan, set prety high. also, i have a haf 932 advanced, which keeps everything nice and cool.
Are you overclocking in 25mhz increments and testing for stability? That is much safer than just cranking it up 100mhz. And if you only have one fan, I wouldn't overclock past 900-950mhz. That way you probably won't have to increase the voltage, and it won't get too hot with one fan.
Try increasing the core clock by 25 MHz at a time, then when that is stable do the same thing with the memory clock until it is stable. If these speeds don't satisfy you, then you start raising the voltage. Once again, don't raise the voltage until you find the max stable clock speeds at default voltage. Same info has already been posted.
Try increasing the core clock by 50 MHz at a time, then when that is stable do the same thing with the memory clock until it is stable. If these speeds don't satisfy you, then you start raising the voltage. Once again, don't raise the voltage until you find the max stable clock speeds at default voltage.
I wouldn't advise more that 950mhz, because he only has one fan. With my 560ti at 900mhz, my temps peak at 86c with 100% usage and the fan at 100%, so with the regular fan speed regulator it might get even warmer, which I don't want.
Thanks for the help everyone! One more thing though. When I start trixx, if i exit out of it, and try to open it again, it says something like cannot instal driver, this file has been marked for deletion. whats up with this?
