Today I got a iPhone 3GS, when I put my sim card in it none of the contacts carried over. I plugged the sim card back in my old phone and all the contacts are saved to the sim. Why aren't they carrying over? And what alternative ways can I transfer them?

Ummm
Is your old phone a type of iPhone?
If not, it probably wont work :sleep.gif:
Verizon has a tool to move contacts over but if its a GSM phone not Verizon. Could also save contacts to an SD card but iphones don't have SDcard slots do they.
So I know Bluetooth can move contacts over on android but I don't know about iphones.
Could also back it up onto a computer but I don't know if iphones supports it.
Go back in time and stop yourself from buying any apple product to begin with.

Yes, iPhones have bluetooth. You could do it the easy way
and key in every... single... contact...

IIRC the old kind of contact card (pre-smartphone contacts) does not translate to new devices.
Although this might just be related to the iphone not supporting it, because my Galaxy S got my old contacts perfectly fine from my 2004 phone.
My other phone is around 3-4 years old, I'll try to find some way to transfer them, and if I can't, it'll be a long night.
I don't see why it wouldn't work then. Phones from that era all use the same file type to store contacts when put on the SIM card.
