Hey i would advise going to this website it is called youtube.com it has a lot of videos on how to make a game in java, game maker, and all the other programming languages. yeah or the website google.com... their both pretty good for that sort of thing!
PS: i am sarcastic...
PPS: i learned how to make a game on Java by searching java game programming tutorial on youtube :smile.gif:@timmy shut up!
There are no tutorials that will just tell you how to make a game. I've been teaching myself C++ for 2 years fairly slowly and I just taught myself the Allegro library and after all that I've finally managed to program Pong. Yes Pong. You can't just stand up and say, "I'm going to program a game".
PS: If you can't figure out Game Maker, you can't program.

Make a game like Minecraft... Well you would need to be an expert at Java, know how to make engines, design character models, design blocks, etc... Derr so I would hit the books buddy
Well there is a few java tutorials i have used to make a space invaders(i started java 2 weeks ago :tongue.gif: plus i only have about 30 min a day :tongue.gif: again) they are on youtube and are about 10 min each!
you should thy them out! :smile.gif:
if you plan on 3D i have no help for you!
but 2D shouldn't take nearly as long!
Try C#!
XNA is a library made for C# and I believe also VB specifically for game development. The developers basically took out all the basic nitty-gritty complicated stuff and summed it into simple easy-to-understand objects/classes.
In my opinion, minecraft is one of the first games that I have ever come across having such good quality programmed in Java!
