well after about 3 years im trying to get back into UDK becuase ive joined a group that is developing a game with Unreal Engine. Im the only one on the crew that has any remote experience with the map editor. The only thing i do NOT know is how to create 3d building that you can walk into.
How can i create a building that is 3d with multiple floors and allow the player to move around inside of it? Sorry yes i know that i sound like a complete and utter idiot but im very tired ATM from a long day of coding / designing.
What software do i need? I have the option of getting ANY Autodesk software becuase i have the (Student.Autodesk) account.
blender will work fine for buildings, there may be problems if you try to import a complex animated character, but static buildings should be no problem

true but UDK doesnt allow to *true* form with the blocks. there will always be a gap some where which will lead to map glitches.
You could try blender and export them to UDK, however, I've heard there are still some issues with exporting things like Bones and surfaces.
Otherwise theres always Maya/3DS Max.
