Didn't bother to read all messages in this thread, but why in the hell are you going with AMD processor with 900$ budget...?
Here is i5 2500k, gtx 560 Ti based system with that same amount of money that ii-rezk and infired used.

I mdae him a build on tiger last night but i had to go before i could give him the links.

Thank you j03 for using the HAF912 and an i5 build. Imo the HAF922 is worse than the 912.

912 has a bigger aftermarket heatsink cut out hole. It has a removable HDD bay. 2.5" bay. More tiedowns on the back of the motherboard tray. Vertical cable routing holes. That is why I think its better.

Remember the fact that I don't have much knowledge about the parts. So I'm trusting you guys to pick the best build. There are around 5 builds (sorry I'm on my iPod, didn't check) that I could use. Now I need you pros to help me choose one. Apparently, I might have to wait until th end of this month or early next month to buy the parts. I MIGHT be able to get more money by then (maybe an extra $200). I'll let you guys know. For now stick with the $1000 budget.
The thing I like about j03's build is the intel processor. From the first page, people reccomended intel over AMD. I have also been reading around, and I don't want to get something that is somewhat obsolete when the bulldozer comes out. I don't want to wait for it, and I doubt I could afford it. So if intel is better, maybe I should go tht route. Your opinions?

I have a 922 and all these things have ended up having no need. The 922 has better cooling and more video card room, which the 912 doesn't have.
Yeah you could go with that. Upgrade the graphics card to the gtx460 1GB version and change the powersupply to the Corsair CMPSU-650TXV2. Then you are golden. You are still getting ripped off if you order from there.
Both items you just mentioned I bought when I built my desktop.
The 1GB version of the GTX460 is amazing, and corsair makes extremely reliable powersupplies. Definitely recommended.
Go intel. My overclocked i7 920 (oc'd to 3.3 ghz) is going strong, and the GTX460 and up are amazing cards.
You don't need 1600Mhz ram, 1333 is eunough for your needs. And I would disagree with going with an already overclocked GPU as it's much cheaper doing it yourself. Games like APB require 8GB RAM, so you should go with 8GB to be on the secure side ... Will make Alt-Tab'ing while in games better too, + dual-tasking.
Well the computer that I build you, it will run anything or do anything you just want to do. i5 2500k, 8Gb of ram, gtx 560 Ti... That's one hell of a computer and should last a while.
If you want the best value for your money, then there you have it. Phenom II processors have no chance against that i5 2500k, it's superior. And it can be overclocked like hell, if you just want.
So, did you need the monitor too?
Yes.
While on topic of monitors, how are dual monitors? How do they work?
Yes, more space to do stuff on. You can run a tutorial on one of the screens and photoshop on the other, making it alot easier. (example)
Oh i though it would be just like having one screen. Like think of minecraft being in the middle. Half would be on the left screen and the other on the right. So you can have a game running on the right screen, and the internet on the other?
Dont go with an amd, the new sandy bridge processors are amazing, im on the i5 2500k right now.
Although unless your gonna overclock dont waste the money on an 2500k, get a 2400 instead and spend the extra money on better graphics, also get 4gb of ram to start with, if only for gaming thats plenty, if you want to do other stuff like video editing it will also get the job done, and its always cheap to add ram later.

Yes, that's basically it. But I'm pretty sure you can get the game to be spread between the two screens.

I'd rather have a game on one screen, and another thing on the other.
So, i'm liking j03's build. Are there any improvements to be made? Are there any changes to ReKz's build to make it seem better than j03's own? When i was considering ReKz's build, i was thinking of changing it to intel, but i didn't know what was compatible with what.

Definitely go with _jo3_'s build.
Better than ii_ReKz's and mine. First, reKz's has AMD Phenom II as a CPU which is pretty outdated already, and mine goes over the budget if you wanted the 2nd Choice, so definitely go with _jo3_'s build.
Pretty much since I've came to this forum, Jo seems to know the best about computers and has helped a lot of people :biggrin.gif:

I looked up parts he listed in tiger direct, and i didn't find some parts. I remember that i didn't find the RAM and PSU (not sure about PSU).
I dont see how it has better cooling and better airflow....

They are pretty much the same thing, but the HAF 922 is bigger. Don't see how it could be worse.
Thinking about coming a mod to simply not moderate.

You have two monitors on your desk making it possible to extend your desktop.

Here's _j03_'s build again, but from TigerDirect and different RAM and PSU since TigerDirect didn't have the one's _j03_ listed.
CPU: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7073161&CatId=6988 - $219.99
Mobo: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7343083&CatId=6978 - $139.99
RAM: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=40739&CatId=4534 - $86.99
Case: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6531504 - $49.99
HDD: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6930121&CatId=8 - $64.99
GPU: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=458652&CatId=3669 - $239.99
PSU: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4164595&CatId=1079 - $44.99
OS: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5213932&CatId=4622 - $99.99
Total: $946.92
If you want, you can get the HAF 922 over the HAF 912:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4631382&CatId=1509 - $89.99
Only an extra $40, but TheFieldZy recommends it over the HAF 912, since it has better Cooling and more room for the GPU, and better Airflow.
I personally like the HAF X:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6269869&CatId=1510 xD
