You sir, need to learn the difference between the number of games available and the ability to run them. Go back to iIgnoranceLand and compare iBees to iElephants there.
You sir, need to learn that there are way more games for Mac OS than Linux, and that your shitty WINE which you use for playing games on Linux sucks balls compared to a native Mac game or using bootcamp. Oh, and if I want to use WINE, I can, although there's no reason to. The GPU/CPU in the Mac I bought can handle almost all modern games fairly well.
Becuase apple uses non-standard 7-pin connectors in the new iMac's HDD. And a **** firmware in the drive makes it impossible to use a standard Barracuda XT/Caviar Black in the new iMac.i think it's a 2600s, not a 2600kand you have a LAPTOP GPU IN A DESKTOPnot to troll here I love macs, but i hate their hardware
People already got around the custom connector problem, and even if they hadn't I could have also used fan control (which I'll use anyways when I OC my 6970M). As for the CPU, I believe it's a 2600K.
I've come to the conclusion that you don't really know what you're arguing about, but you know that it pisses someone off. That's the sole purpose of you posting about Macs, and their 'superiority' without actually backing it up. Any time you're questioned, you just call that person a troll./calling you out
Nope. But I do seem to see you on every thread that mentions Macs, interesting that you always attack them!
Linux.More specifically Ubuntu.Using prices I found on Amazon.com:Windows 7 is about $200 - $250. Upgrade: $100Mac OS is about $30 - $50 (Possibly upgrade only?)Ubuntu is exactly $0.
Windows 7 is $150-$300, Linux is free, and Mac OS is $30. Although you can always "acquire" it.

Your ignorance is well shown in this post. I told you - the number of native games DOES NOT MATTER, because it isn't defined by the OS itself, therefore making your point invalid. We are discussing the OPERATING SYSTEMS themselves not the NUMBER OF GAMES that the OS can run natively. We all know that there are much more games that run natively on Windows than on Linux. Does that make the OS itself worse? No.
@Windows "Ultimate", "Home Premium", etc... price argument: well, guess what? I can get Ubuntu Ultimate for 0$. Because there is no such thing. There are different variations of Ubuntu, and they are all free and feature-full. When you are paying for Windows, you are spending your money on feeding those lazy money-eating "programmers"/GUI clowns that work at Microbrain. At the moment, Windows can not be replaced because there aren't enough native applications for other platforms. But why pay for something that itself has no advantages over its cheaper alternatives? It is like buying a chair for 180$ with a logo on it when you could've bought a normal chair for 20$.

1. What ignorance is this? No more than your own-- you were argueing that linux was better for gaming, then you switch track and claim it has more games, then you switch track again and claim that you never said 1 and 2 and that all along you were claiming that you were not even discussing games at all? Hello there, can you keep on track?
2. Same can be argued for Mac OS-- $30 for a OS that is light-years ahead of any other OS, and that includes Linux flavors. Personally, I use all three, and I enjoy features from all three, but at the end of the day, I do all my work in Mac OS, simply because for me, it's better. Now for Joe over there, he might like XP, and Bob might like Gentos, and Jill might use W7, but it's all a personal choice, and there is no reason to flame anyone who isn't using YOUR OS, which HAS TO BE THE BEST, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Well...Windows is based off of DOS. That doesn't make sense. OSX and Windows are completely different. Windows IS DOS. MacOSX is Unix.
Linux is the most configurable, so I'd say it is the best, and since Adobe is making CS for it, XKCD (is that what it's called?) might be right be right about 2014.
Honestly, I'm kinda with battlekid. It's your choice. For me, Linux/Windows is the best (Win only for compatibility). Same with nickguletskii. However, it might be different for battlekid or Bassdoken.

1. How is it a ripoff? $2400 (with RAM/tax, minus the rebate and edu discount and the free card), is a way better price than a standard PC tower + monitor.
2. I can replace the HDD.

You are right-ish, I wouldn't call Windows a DOS derivative or MacOS X a Unix derivative.
And yeah, CS is for the win!
That no viruses statement is a load of bull****! What the heck are you on about that mac has no viruses! In fact macs are more susceptible to viruses as there is hardly any protection against them on a mac. The only reason macs don't get viruses is because most of the kids who want to make viruses own windows.
That's what all those "kids who want to make viruses" think. Now, that is false; MacOS X has integrated protection as far as I know.

Wrong.
There are 0 active viruses on Mac OS, and in the entire history of Mac OS there have been less than 5 live viruses.
Mac OS is built on a great and secure foundation, but I'm tired of repeating myself so I won't bore you with the reasons why it is harder to create viruses for it.

1. Mac Computers have the same likelyness of getting a virus as other computers, the OS however is less likely to get a virus.
2. Their "speed" is due to the OS.
Edit: Realised I misread part of iSkateboard's post.
"Please show me some proof of a Mac OS X virus. There were some viruses in the older OSes (OS 9 and under), but there have been no recorded viruses for OS X.
Trojans can affect Macs, but trojans are not viruses. They act like an innocent program to the user. In order for a trojan to do any damage, you have to install it and type in the administrator password."
"As Apple continues its slow and steady rise in popularity with consumers, more and more self-appointed security experts on blogs and various tech publications are talking about how the Mac’s operating system, OS X, is not any more inherently secure or safe from viruses and malware than Windows is. The flimsy rationale for this statement (which more often than not comes without any factual support) is that because the Mac’s market share is so small relative to Windows, creators of malware have no interest. Those evil hackers would prefer to get more bang from their coding buck, so to speak, by targeting the largest audience possible with their malware.
Not only is there no evidence to support this assertion, but there actually exists a lot of evidence that counters it. And while I may agree that there is a tiny grain of truth to this argument, it’s not the whole story, not by a long shot. There are many other factors beyond market share that influence a computer platform’s chances of getting viruses or having security exploits."
"By this definition, there have been hundreds, if not thousands, of Windows viruses, a handful of Mac OS 9 viruses, and not one for Mac OS X."
"The reasons for this have been extensively debated by security experts, who offer several explanations:
Small market share. There is some truth to the "security through obscurity" argument. Many virus writers are motivated by the power they can command -- and the money they can make -- by seizing control of large numbers of computers. That puts a financial premium on Windows viruses.
Mac OS X, with its Unix-based file system and kernel, is harder to infect with a self-replicating program. Windows, as I understand it, allows users to write run executable code outside their own protected memory space; Mac OS X does not.
Viruses are going out of style. The action these days, I'm told, is in Trojans and spyware.
This is not to say that OS X is invulnerable. The frequency of Apple's security updates and the emphasis the company is putting on the new security features in Snow Leopard are proof that it is not. Maybe Apple is just lucky. Or maybe it's better at protecting its users from infection than Microsoft."
Oh, and in addition, Apple pushes out updates every 24 hours to it's users, updating the malware definitions in their computers. Can you say the same for any other OS?
Oh, and since you doubtless will claim that windows is secure, then:
1. It's a laptop part made in a desktop, no matter the excuse if it being an all-in-one it is still a DESKTOP. Btw, I would rather buy a MAC PRO than a iMAC lol2. 1. The HDD/CPU is desktop versions, the RAM is laptop RAM, and the GPU is a overpowered GPU used only in the highest end laptops. Just look at the form factor, do you think it's all dekstop parts? No, and that's totally fine.
2. It passes all hardware tests, do a little research before you look like a idiot.
3. You are saying this GFX card is going to be outdated soon? No faster than any other card! It's a suberb, top-of-the-line mobile card, and it's one of the highest end mobile GPUs on the market, able to challenge many recent desktop cards in terms of power/speed.

4. N/A
5. Illegal much? We're talking legal here, not about pirating.
6. Cracked much?

3. Not quite true.
7. Natively, more games run on Mac OS than Linux.
8. So should I call you a fanboy and a troll now?
1. Read top of this post, Macs are WAY more secure.
2. Yes, the OS is very fast.
