it's not 19, but I have more
Ahaha, I have a steam account, but I always buy a hard copy anyways.. I may just delete my account. Anyways, as far as which is better, PC or mac. It depends on your personal preference. If you aren't computer smart or you're more interested in looks, a mac is for you. If you're someone that will personalize all your settings and load up your computer with all kinds of programs, you need a PC. Its that simple, I don't see the big argument.

Generation 2: When you see this, put it in your signature and add 1 to the number.
We have MACs in our university and they are horrible,
- The Keyboard feels worse than a laptop keyboard, feels like typing on a smooth piece of wood
- The mouse has a 3D ball scroller which is too tiny to be uses efficiently and it is half-broken on most computers
- It is near impossible to maximize an application,The (+) button does nothing.
One also need to look at technological aspects,
You can have Hardware Accelerated Video Decoding (via DXVA) on XP (a 10 yr old Windows OS).
You cannot have Hardware Accelerated Video Decoding on a Mac with an Intel GPU (Reason why Adobe Flash offers bad performance on some Macs). Intel GPUs offer hardware video acceleration for Vista and 7.
When it comes to source games:
They run the worst on Linux through WINE,
IE: 20FPS on a NV 9800 on High
They run OK on a Mac, but no where near Windows performance.
They run the best on Windows.
IE: 60FPS on NV 8600 MOBILE on High
Other..... Yeah I prefer my Ubuntu laptop and Desktop.
about the "performance" of a Mac....
Mac = $2000, is compared with Windows = $400.... OH DUH THE MAC WINS.....
I built a Windows for my cousin that totaled $ 1100 that WIPED THE MUD OFF of his brother's(my other cousin's) $3000 Mac. Imagine if I had built him a $3000 system.
and as for Software, Windows has more, a good bit of free, and rest is decently priced. The Mac's is highly limited, and usually Ultra Expensive, even Microsoft Office for Mac is more expensive.
(not going into Linux stuff as this thread is Windows/Mac.)
i prefer windows, why? because i like playing games, to explain myself i'll say this
on linux, you control your OS since its open source and crap, if you like/dont like something or want/dont want something you can program it in/out etc. but if you dont know what your doing you may break your computer
on windows you can change most things, like appearance and stuff, but you cant change too much OS features and stuff, although you can break your OS/computer you've gotta try pretty hard
on mac, no freedom, no danger on macs you cannot really change much, not hardware not OS features, there are very few games, and very little software that work on macs but you cannot **** up your OS no matter how hard you try
ive never even seen someone change the background on macs(on windows ive seen people change the background all the time even at school i even know how and do it all the time, on macs not so much)

A terrible, TERRIBLE Computer. Seriously, though, I'm getting tired of seeing these threads over and over again. And it's not only on these forums, it's on ANY forum with a section for Computer and Technology topic. Let's face it: nobody on the Earth has the same tastes, therefore, there is no clear winner to this pointless debate. One poster might like Macs, other posters, such as me, prefer PCs. And I don't think that one can judge an OS if they haven't used it and or tried it for at least a day, maybe more. As for me, I have tried MAC OS X when it was in Tiger. I bought a Macbook (the black one that got discontinued), and it kind of let me down: the motherboard got fried, so I sent it back, it being under warranty, and when I got it back, guess what? The HDD was formated! Great! This is just my personal experience with Apple, I personally don't recommend them for computers, even for photo/video editing, as the Adobe products (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects) are amazingly superior to those offered by Apple.
MY bottom line: Really, go with your own opinion. I can't force you to buy a PC or a Mac, nobody can. If you're looking for something that will allow you to play games and do anything else you could do on a computer, build yourself a custom gaming PC. But once again, this is only my opinion.

I like pc's and macs. Macs more, because they run smoother for school junk, and pc's for games and stuff. Just think, macs have no viruses, pc's have vista's.
PC for me. I like how you can crack it open with a screwdriver, throw in a new processor, throw in a new video card, swap out the motherboard, throw it all in a new case, etc.
Just think, macs have no viruses, pc's have vista's.
False. No operating system is immune to viruses.
When you build your own PC, you can actually CHOOSE whichever operating system you prefer, BELIEVE IT OR NOT. Yes, that means you can install Windows 7, Vista, XP, even OS's like Linux! Mac fanboys wouldn't know cause all they've ever had is their shitty Mac OS X.
And honestly, Vista wasn't even that bad. I don't know what everyone is complaining about.

Vista is my favorite OS, period. And I've used about 10 OSes in my life(2 Macintosh OSes{System 6 and System 7}, Mac OS X, Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, Ubuntu, and some other, more obscure linux distro).
Therefore:
Windows == PC
Mac OSX == PC
Linux == PC
etc.
Whoever said games didn't work well on Linux in Wine is a complete ****ing retard, and should stop posting in the Computer Science board.

It is common knowledge that the following is true, yet some ****ing retard fanboy Mac user faggot will always contest it.
Linux is best if you:
-Are interested in how your computer works
-Run a server
-Like messing with your computer
-Are a programmer
-Need a free OS
-Or have an old computer
Windows is best if you:
-Are a gamer
-Windows also is good because independent companies develop mostly for Windows, because it is the most used operating system
-Just want something that works
Mac is best if you:
-Are a ****ing noob who wants to look like a cool kid
-If you want to be someone who pretend they know what they are talking about, but really know **** all.

It is an overpriced beauty, but isn't really good for anything but looking at it.
This explains a lot.
Ontopic: I like Macs for laptops, and PCs for desktops. I already explained why in another thread, so I'm not going to say it again here.
