Does anyone have a suggestion for a graphics card that can run Ubuntu with maximum video effects?
I have been thinking about a ATi Radon. I know Minecraft would run fine. If it runs fine on my low end Acer Aspire One. I think a Radon would work as well. I'm building a new PC and I would like the full Ubuntu experience on this computer. I just don't know any graphics cards that would work. I'm not the best when it comes to keeping up with graphics cards. If anyone has some suggestions. Please let me know.
Thanks!

Coming with direct experience, do not mix AMD/ATI cards with Linux. Period.
Now which card you want depends on how much you're wanting to spend, as well as what the rest of the system is. So, what will the processor be?

I am running an NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT with 1gb video memory. This card is perfectly compatible with Ubuntu 10.10 (I am using it right now =D) And runs without any lag or anything else like that at all. This card installs easily into a PCIe x16 slot and has 2 DVI outputs and an S Video output. This card runs at about 90-100$ and i highly recommend it.

Their processors are fine. But if you're going to use Linux, stay away from them for graphics cards.
Get a GTX 460 1GB. That would be awesome in Ubuntu.
