Linux - There is no better OS for the programmer. Extremely versatile. Also, runs well on my older PCs.
Wings3D - Great for very quickly making 3D models and then exporting them for use in XNA. Very easy to use.

You find me a media player that sorts my 4TBs of TV shows by season and does it smoothly as itunes and I'll gladly switch.
Winamp. Search for addons that do the same, the functionality is the same if not higher of iTunes.
