Most people would expect it to use the result as the first expression in those cases.

It throws the exception because it tries to convert an empty string into a number.
But some exceptions are handled, like n/0.
It allows you to add more than one decimal to the equation. (ex. 8.8.8.8 + 9) Albeit, you can't actually hit any of the buttons to perform any operations like addition or subtraction.
