Can you be more specific? If you are looking for Something that records Desktop you would be looking for camstudio. If you want something that records something from a Capturing Device use Windows Movie Maker for Windows and Imovie for Mac.

Snagit Portable records video too. Plus, it weorks better than Snagit 10. Most of all, it's free.
I can recommend you to use Macvide ScreenCap !Its a high quality prog, which captures and records anything you can see on your screen to image, video or flash. It works fast !!Hope it helps you )) http://macvide.com/Macvide_ScreenCap/
I can't seem to find a desktop screen capture program either. The difference is that I need one that works on Linux, bonus points if it's known to work with Fedora 13 because that's what I use.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

Go in KPackage or whatever it is, and search for a Desktop Recorder. Make sure it's for KDE and not gnome, unless you've installed Gnome.

Thanks for that program, it works really well! I can't get it to record audio though, think you could help. I just have that set to default and I can hear the game just fine when I'm playing, but when I watch the recording no sound is playing. I also want to know what the best fps setting to record videos should be. I don't know if the fps setting is supposed to work this way, but I thought fps meant frames per second. So I put the fps up to 30 because I thought the video would be less choppy if I did that. Instead though, when I played the video it was like everything was fast forwarded, should it be doing this?

I've never used this CamStudio but it sounds sufficient. I've been using Debut video capture software for a long time now and it works wonders. My biggest issue with most open source capture programs is the compression quality. You can record a 30 minute video from the screen or from a usb source and that ***** will be under 500mb, as opposed to using my webcam's default softwar which somehow records at like a gig per five minutes.
You should be able to find the homepage that offers Debut with some googling. I do believe it was part of a package though. I know it was included with VideoPad editing software, VirtualDub and Prism Converter. I believe all of those have a trial expiration, but Debut does not.
A link would be nice too.

This.
It's free.
It's open-source.
It has no watermark.
It has good quality.
Notch uses it.
In other words, it's the best there is.
Notch uses it. I think you just sold it :tongue.gif:
Actually, I clicked the link at 'good quality'. But the 'Notch uses it.' helped.
>_> quality doesn't matter Backwards DOG matters Confused, yes. D:>
See, I knew notch used it..
But when I used it I got ty vids even with high quality.
