I personally use any kind of ad.fly killer or anything else, but dang, some ads are malicious files, i remember when the ad was a counter of 5 seconds would download something, i ignored it, but it downloaded some .exe file, it had a folder icon with minecraft icon inside, making you think that there's minecraft inside the folder, so yeah, why do people still use ad.fly even if it gives some viruses rarely?
(Also i checked the .exe file with antivirus and it was some kind of viruses inside, i don't have pic sorry...)
I just use the curse launcher and modpacks. Not saying it's completely safe(Although it may be), but I haven't had an issue in any of the 25 or so mod packs I've downloaded and played, or the hundreds of mods I've downloaded to make my own.
Although I've never had an issue with downloading separate mods using adfly either.

Speaking from someone who has hosted files on adf.ly, its' not worth it. You make it more difficult for people to access things you want them to use at the expense of a few cents! From the thousands of clicks I received, I get enough money to get a happy meal.
