So for those of you who know me quite well, you'd know that I built something of a monster late last year. By monster, I mean super overkill that is just way unnecessary for gaming, and now it's in my office at the place I work, and there I'm simply not able to game, so I had to take it upon myself to buy myself, and my brother a gaming rig each. The budget was fairly low for 2 PC's, but I think they both do the job at what they were built to do.
My brother got a GTX 960 while I stuck with a 580 I had lying around, because I plays a lot more games like Arma 3 and whatnot that really need that extra grunt, whereas CS GO and Warframe just well, didn't.
Everything else except for the CPU cooler (he wanted an air one) are the same.
CPU: AMD FX-6300 overclocked to 4.2GHz
CPU cooler: Corsair H75
MOBO: MSI 970
RAM: I don't know what RAM it is in the pictures, but it's now 16GB of corsair vengeance (DDR3)
GPU: GTX 580 (some sort of special edition) 2GB DDR5
PSU: Corsair 650M 650W
Case: Corsair Carbide Spec 02 (pretty compact)
Keyboard/Mouse: I got rid of my razer blackwidow and replaced it with a Steelseries 6GV2 with MX Black switches and a Corsair m65 mouse to accompany it.

I also need to upgrade to a modular PSU. Cable management is terrible when you have ten different unused cables screwing around with your case...
I already got an RMA on that Corsair one because it had a faulty fan that gave me this weird, but loud grinding sound. They just sent a replacement and no more problems. Lol
Replaced NAS motherboard with a H97M-ITX/ac, because having only 2 SATA ports was downright silly. Needed a PCI-E SATA expansion card to just get 4 ports which wasn't working well, so the H81M-ITX had to go. CPU is an i3-4170, no idea why Speccy doesn't like it. (Also, yes, I know I don't have an IO shield. I'm also not using any thermal paste because I ran out & have to wait for it to arrive in the mail.. Yolo.)
Next to upgrade is a couple of WD 4TB Reds, i'm out of space.

Whats your experience with the case? I've been looking to get that for a future ITX build.

I feel the pain. I wish I had gone with larger drives when I did my file server upgrade last time. Down to 11 TB free out of 42. At the time I didn't feel like the extra $800 or so was worth it to go to 4s so I got 3s. I regret that now.

Honestly, it's pretty big for an ITX case and the only reason I got it was because it was only $30 AUD secondhand. For a NAS it's a nice case, quiet, filtered intakes, 5x 3.5" HDD bays, but the cable management is questionable and if you didn't have a modular PSU, would be very hard to deal with if you had both cages in there. Also not a fan of the handles as they take up a lot of space for no real benefit, hence them being removed.
If I were to buy again, I'd probably go with a Phenom instead.

Thankfully I can't hoard data on that scale due to 3.5Mbps internet, but if it were faster, I'm sure my hoard size would increase to match haha. I do have to question what exactly would use 31TB of storage though. VMs, movies, anime, TV etc?
Don't forget, there's always someone out there with a better setup than you. Not worth bragging, the Recon 3D is outdated.

? - can't tell if sarcasm or not. Setup has changed a good deal since anyway.
Also, accidentally just ran 1.6V on vcore through my i7 for a good couple of mins. OOPS. Went to put in 1.36V, missed the 3, ended up with 1.6V instead, and booted into Windows. Only noticed after booting up CPU-Z.
How is my chip not dead?! Maybe it's dying and hasn't quite come to fruition yet... we'll see.... I need an upgrade anyway I guess..

Primarily anime and the rest non-anime videos, music, games, apps, backups and it's an iSCSI target providing drives for my other machines.
Eh. CPUs are tougher than some people think. Remember, there are world record overclockers who regularly go over 2v.
I don't think 1.6v is a problem for a Sandy, at least not for a few minutes as long as it's being kept cool.
I'm about to perform a fairly significant upgrade: going from a 4670K and a Z87 Extreme4 to two Xeon E5-2670s and an Asus Z9PE-D8 WS. 16 cores total is going to be heavenly with modeling and designing applications.
Could have gone for a cheaper board, but I decided in the long run having a more workstation-friendly WS board is worth the $200 more over a barebones server board with literally 2 USB ports and no audio.
Seems you're right, has been seemingly running just fine at 4.5GHz since I set it back to normal so maybe I'm safe.
Looking forward to seeing the upgrade, you going to WC them?
That is a pretty insane computer, 980 ti's and 5x series CPUs
yeah XD. I saved up so much lol (Not trying to brag)
8x8x4? Wow! That works out to 256 GB of RAM over 64 4GB sticks!
Intel Core i5-6600k: Decent CPU, couldn't really ask for any more proccessing power.
AsRock H170 Pro4: I desperately need to change this M/B as it is so unreliable.
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8Gb DDR4 2400MHz
Gigabyte Radeon R9 380 2Gb OC
XFX TS Series 550W PSU
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
Aerocool GT-A
Windows 10: Sucks, as they crash all of the time; worst OS I've ever used.
Damn, this case is sexy.

It's actually 8 cores, there's just 16 threads.
