Yeah, everything is plugged in. I even double checked it to ensure that everything was. So what gpu should I get? I crap 5450?
I just suggested trying to use your processor's integrated GPU to see if it works, sheesh. Sorry guy.. Try that first because you obviously can't troubleshoot anything without a monitor picture.

my monitor has a female vga output, and my monitor has a male vga input. And I don't have a female to male vga cable.
Just saying, running MC at 120-500 FPS definitely doesn't "burn out" your graphics card, in fact saying that your graphics card gets burned out by constantly displaying high frames is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard...if the card can put out the frames, then it can handle them.
OT: I would suggest (as pretty much everyone has said) trying to isolate if the graphics card is the problem.

Think of it this way then. A car engine can to 10k RPM, but it is potentially damaging to do that for a sustained amount of time. Just because it can do it, doesn't mean it should. Not capping the FPS limit means your GPU will just spit out frames left and right with nothing controlling it. This can produce a ton of heat, and as we all know, heat is no bueno for computers.

His GPU would be fine as long as it doesn't get *too* hot (90-100C). Hardware is actually meant to work though dude, it can handle the stress and heat of a large workload.I seriously doubt it's going to burn out because he's been playing Minecraft @ 150FPS.

The only reason your card would be overheating during Minecraft is if you had virtually no airflow at all.
Besides, Minecraft's frame "limiter" is a piece of utter garbage compared to that of just about any other game.

All VGA cables are male on both ends. No monitor will have a male VGA port. This is an industry standard that has been in practice for over 20 years.

then I can't use my motherboards onboard graphics because the ends are different.

Then it's more than likely that it's a COM port, not VGA... 970/990 boards do not have integrated graphics.
K95 RGB / Logitech G502 PS / Alienware AW3418DW / ViewSonic XG2703-GS / Sennheiser HD 598
Then it isn't a VGA port, its a serial port.
All VGA cables will look like this. All VGA ports will look like this. Serial ports look like this.
Oh how the tables have turned...
