I downloaded the current version of forge and the mods I have are up to date, but when I put them in my mod folder and run the game, it says no mods loaded. Can I get some help?
1.Install Java (don't rely on the one Minecraft provides).
2.Install Forge, Rift, Fabric (whichever modloader) from it's official site. Since your after Forge you'll need to download it from here: https://files.minecraftforge.net/
3.I assume your after 1.14.4, so download that installer (most likely the latest) then check your .minecraft folder, if you see a mods folder and a version in the versions folder with 'Forge' then it's installed correctly. For versions: C:\Users\YOURPCNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions For mods C:\Users\YOURPCNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\mods
Note:
If you have 1.12.2 mods that might be conflicting with 1.14.4 mods put .disabled after the .jar for example MODNAME.jar.disabled and it will be fine. Otherwise you can just separate them with a 1.12.2 folder and it should work (this only works for 1.12.2 and under versions of Forge though it was removed in 1.13+ versions sadly :(), but if you have a mod like JEI conflicting even with the 1.12.2. version in the 1.12.2 folder then just disable the one you aren't using (if 1.14.4 you want to use then disable the 1.12.2, if the other way around then do it for that version).
4.To play modded now that you've installed the modloader for the launcher (going off of Vanilla Launcher installation not other modloaders like MultiMC or Twitch, which I recommend as they make mod management and installation much easier, faster and less tedious) just select the new Forge instance (if one isn't there create one under 'Installations') then play.

OK, run the basics:
1. Did MC install correctly?
2. Did you make a vanilla world to verify?
3. Did Forge download and install correctly?
4. Did you make a Profile with Forge?
5. Did you make a world with the Forge Profile first (no mods yet)? This will create the additional folders you'll need, especially the mods folder.
6. Did you make sure the mod's version matched the Forge Profile version (i.e. 1.12 = 1.12, etc)?
7. Did you copy the mod files into the mods folder?
8. Did you make sure you selected the Forge Profile to play on?
