Introduction: JC is a great dinosaur mod but, the dinosaurs do not spawn in. In this tutorial I will show you how to spawn them in as adults with optional configurations you can do.
Download configurations files install mods (come back in a few days for JAS configs Currently won't spawn in the world) then your done.
Step 2 Mob Properties Configuration Explanation:
Mob Properties: mob properties is a mod that will change the mobs nbt as soon as the entity joins the world no matter how it is created or how it joins the world a basic override. In the mob properties config file jurassicraft is where you need to be looking. Once there open it up with notepad ++.
The entire files are in .json format and so are the rest of the formats you are going to be using. Mob properties has a specific .json format they want you using
Once You have taken a look at the format I know it's a bit confusing take a look back at the config file. You will notice that there are two functions here. Mob properties basically calls everything a function. So you need a function tag to do most things. In here the function is switching the function array list below. Each { } of the json section are a new section for the array list to choose what to do as stated but the choose function, then it simply chooses it based on it's weight tag. Once that tag is there there is another function called nbt below this goes your tag "tags" [] where the actual nbt is.
Now your going ok what's with the commas in the { }? well it has a comma to signal that there is another tag is going to be in the "tags" array list of tags. Once your done with those then when you end your last tag you don't have a comma at the end. The function here in the tag is going to be the type of tag in this case it's a float, there is also int, byte, string, long. The name tag is the name of the tag you want to name it to edit the mob properties. Note it has to be an actual tag used by the mob. In this case we are directly modifying the genetic quality to make the mob bigger.
Step 3 Configuring Mob Properties:
You should be able by now create a mob properties configuration file from scratch now by looking at the wiki and my short but, bad explanation above. You can configure the tag amounts.
Genetic Quality: how big is the entity
Gender: which gender is the dino going to be?
GrowthStage: 0-120 bytes (is the dino able to grow 0-119 yes else no)
Step 4 Configuring Jas to get the mob with it's properties finally into your world:
If you didn't get step 2 and step 3 this is perfectly normal your just like give me my dinos already you have a working config why do I need to edit It? Ok calm done here I will tell you what you need to do with jas in order to get the dinos spawning into the world. Start by installing jas if you haven't already.
Go To %appdata%/.minecraft > config folder > Just another spawner > World Settings > BASIC > DEFAULT
Go to entity handlers
Edit jurassic craft with notepad ++ and replace all from NONE to Creature
Go to entity spawn list entries and edit with notepad ++ prepare for the next step.
Step 5 Editing With JAS:
You should be in spawn list entries by now if not go ahead and do so.
Find the biome you want to spawn the dinos in using control + f (in windows) then search for a keyword biome
Once you find your biome edit find the entity you want to spawn in and edit the numbers. Weight is the first number the wiki doesn't say what the others do but, they do do something.

will this same strategy work for other mods with mobs that don't spawn naturally?
It should however if the mobs are not picky NBT dependent then you won't need mob properties.
Is there a way to make them spawn using CustomMobSpawner rather than JAS?
Did you say challenge?
UPDATE: 4-19-2019
jurassicraft.cfg lives in %AppData%\Roaming\.minecraft\config\JustAnotherSpawner\WorldSettings\BASIC\DEFAULT\SpawnListEntries
NOT the address listed in the original post
(
Jurassicraft has its properties set at 0-4-0-4. The page at fathertoast recommends 1-4-0-4.
Looking at other mods shows mobs that show with regularity are set at 6-4-4-4.
Have fun setting up your world, your way!

I'm with you all the way to step 5. My computer can not find a file with "biome" in it.
"Step 5 Editing With JAS:

Any ideas on how to make this work?
