Hi, new here. I have several computers and several users here, we run Forge and Vanilla servers on local machines here. I've been trying to get a "custom loader" set up so that no matter who goes on which computer, it "just works".
This loader takes care of moving the right mods to the right folders, etc. For the most part, it works GREAT! But there's one problem, I don't want to have to go into Minecraft to add a server to the servers list every time we create a new one. I want to generate it on the fly using the same method I'm already using.
The problem is, it's NBT or whatever, and I don't know how to create that file on the fly. Can it be done? I have a server list in plain text that has all the necessary info, I just need to "dump" it in the right format, then copy it to the .minecraft folder. No matter what I've tried, it just doesn't work. Is there any hope?
The closest I've gotten is I can create a file that "looks" like the servers.dat file, when viewed in notepad. It looks pretty good, but it must be just different enough (in binary) that the client just ignores it and says there are no servers.
