I'm using Forge 1.8 and about 20 mods. My allocated RAM always starts out at around 900MB, even in a new world. In the profile area at the beginning, I put the memory allocation to 2 gb and sometimes I'll put 4 gb. After about 30 minutes of playing, it maxes out. Like what? I always hear people saying they play with HUNDREDS of mods? HOW? That would not be possible with my computer. Does this have something to do with having more ram? I have 8GB in my PC. Or is it a graphics card thing?
Can you post your JVM arguments? I'm guessing that you may have a -Xms900M argument or something along those lines, which will allocate 900 MB to start out with but will increase if necessary to a maximum of whatever your -Xmx argument is set to.

Realistic Torches - Causes torches to burn out after a configurable amount of time.
Nature's Compass - A utility item that allows you to search for any biome's location in the world.
Sorry, I think I misunderstood your original post. I thought you meant that the JVM was allocating 900 MB to begin with (rather than the 4 GB that you've set), which was being used up rather quickly. On second thought, it seems like you mean that the JVM is allocating 4 GB, as it should be, and the game is originally using 900 MB of that, but within 30 minutes it's consuming all 4 GB?
If this is the case, post your fml-client-latest.log. It may contain some more information.
EDIT: You might also want to get rid of the -Xmn argument. Let the JVM handle that. This might be the issue, but it's hard to say without the log.
Guys thanks for all the help. I just removed some mods. Now I play with 10 and it's fine. The other mods weren't that good anyway. Again thanks a lot for the help, though!

Sure. This is what's on mine.
