Hey, I'm working on a map, but my functions aren't working. This is what I have:
%appdata%\.minecraft\saves\rhythmcraft\datapacks contains one datapack folder, named rhythmcraft.
This datapack folder contains the mcmeta file (named: pack.mcmeta) with this code in it:
{
"pack": {
"pack_format": 4,
"description": "this wont work will it"
}
}
Then also inside the datapack folder, is another folder called data, in that is only a folder named functions, in that is one file called 'resetpigstep.mcfunction'. This file has the following code:
setblock 7 27 -29 stone
setblock 9 27 -26 stone
setblock 7 27 -20 stone
setblock 7 27 -6 stone
setblock 9 27 -3 stone
setblock 7 27 3 stone
setblock 7 27 17 stone
setblock 9 27 20 stone
And in-game, when typing /function Minecraft doesn't even suggest any functions, it doesn't detect my file, all files have the right extension, what's going wrong?

Did you run "/reload" beforehand?
If you did, go to your launcher settings and check "Open output log when game starts". Then, start up the game, go to your world, and run "/reload". Any errors that happen during parsing will be present in the output log window. You can try interpreting these yourself or posting them here for examination.

Remember those versions that minecraft pranked us with? Specifically:
Minecraft 2.0
Minecraft 1.VR-Pre1
Snapshot 15w14a
Minecraft 3D
Those are still downloadable! Watch this video for 2.0:
To download the other ones you need to make a folder in the versions folder for minecraft and put the client and JSON file for the versions in there. They all need to be named the same aside from file extensions. Once you do that, you will be able to choose that version when making a new profile with the minecraft launcher.
Hey, I checked the log while doing /reload, it doesn't encounter any errors with the function, so I'm at a total loss, it might be the fact that the version number in my mcmeta file is wrong? I'll try this right now.

I think you need to put your function inside of one extra folder called "data." Make sure your entire folder format entirely matches what is shown at this link (use your data pack name instead of "minecraft"):
