I am Paleo. For quite some time I have been planning a series of mods taking inspiration from existing mods while introducing a wide range of new concepts from myself and other members of my team. We are nearly finished with the first mod in our production list; a disambiguation can be seen in a spoiler below.
Our Goal:
Our goal is to extend the Vanilla gameplay of Minecraft which has become stagnant. Though 1.8 is fresh out of the oven, the game has a lot of room to grow. Our main premise, the core of our mods is to reward players for exploring and building different bases, extend existing gameplay by tweaking a few features while adding a handful of new ones, create a fresh experience by introducing very balanced new items.
The reason for this post is to expand the team as our coder is quite worn our having to do most of the hard work by himself. I work mostly on textures and organizing the overall mechanics of the mod. So here is what we are preferably looking for though anyone with modding skills is welcome to apply. Though I am the one asking for help, there are only a select few spots.
Looking For:
Coders adept in Java. Having modding experience (a full fledged mod) will give you a leg up in this. We are coding many entities, an entire new utility, behaviors etc. Beginners are more than welcome to join as everything counts.
Pixel artists adept in the Minecraft style. Though it may seem simple, replicating this style is difficult.
Modelers who can utilize Techne or any other form of modeling program to the fullest extent for anything such as new mobs.
The Rules:
Anyone can join the team if they wish to contribute. Those who do will be credited with links to all of their available pages and detailed accounts on what they actually did.
Please work together. Encourage each other in the process. We don't want one or two people doing all of the work.
When working with us, you are granting the original creator (in this case myself and my partner) the ability to use and distribute the mod as we see fit. Of course those who aid us are also able to do this with some limitations such as not claiming the mod as your own, copying or stealing work from others including those in our own group and please follow forum rules.

Here is a sample on what we are working with:
Grindstone
Grindstone
The Grindstone is a new entity class that is obtained after one creates a furnace in order to craft its ingredients. The main purpose is to grind materials into their powdered form as certain recipes are now disabled which includes but isn't limited to dyes, bonemeal and blazerods. Sheep no longer regrow their wool the same color as they were dyed in this mod which creates an actual use to collecting flowers or creating a flower generator in multiple biomes. It can also grind Wheat into Flour which can in turn be smelted into bread. The old Bread recipe still works but is now, in relation to the Flour method, a loss of product and less efficient. Iron and Gold ores can also be ground here into dusts which double yields what the original ore block would have produced. The Grindstone is powered by different tiers of gears which extend from Wood to Diamond. Each gear can grind more materials at a faster pace. The Grindstone can also do things like grind Flint into Gunpowder, Grind cobble into gravel into sand, etc.
More Chests
Chests can now be crafted with different wood types creating all new types of chests though their original functionality is still the same.
Thirst
This part of the mod adds utility to the Cauldron and adds a new Thirst Bar to the main screen hotbar. Specific items can be dropped into a Cauldron that is activated by a heat source block (Lava, lit materials, or the new Heat Rock) to create new drinks. The interface is similar to how the old Cauldron used to work with potions and will be completely redstone compatible for automated drinking stations. This mod also adds several new crops (with actual uses other than cosmetic appeal), two new tree types (complete with all craftables) and many other additions.
There are about 30 other planned additions though many things are subject to change. For the full list, please apply and become accepted.
Please respect the poster (me) and do not spam this forum with unnecessary or negative responses. We are attempting to create a new experience for you guys and are just dipping into the pool for help. Thank you for your time.
