So, you know how villagers are always deprived of their freedom in order to set up villager hall type trading areas? Don't get me wrong, some of these are indeed very nice looking designs but they don't look very natural in terms of what a village should look like. What I think would be nice is if you could build a village and assign a villager to a particular area rather than them running all over the place so random and willy nilly so it's difficult to trade with them. After all, this behavior is what drives people to confine them to a one block place and hold them still so you can find them when you're ready to trade with them. But what if you could build a custom village of your own (if you wanted to) or alter a generated village in such a way that you could, for example, build a butcher shop and assign a butcher there so he remains in his shop ready to do business when you come to see him there? He could still move about freely but would do so inside his shop so you're not having to chase all over town looking for him. Need a Weapon Smith? You'll find him at the Weapon Shop? A Cleric? Check the church or temple or whatever holy place this village has. Fisherman at the Bait & Tackle shop. Etc.
Oh, I realize you could build a village this way by painstakingly chasing those villagers around to capture them and move them to their shops by boat or minecart but wouldn't it be nice if you could right click on one and assign it ."You there! Armored! This over here is your shop. Stay within 5 blocks of the center of this place ."
