I had a idea of a new mob, a ghost/poltergeist. While the player is away, items will disappear and reappear somewhere else, when returning to the world to notice. Doors will open and other things heard from different places. Noise of Footsteps heard when not walking.Shadows will appear spooking the player. Very rare When turning a corner or looking up a stair case or even just staring at a distance, a figure will be looking at you but when you get close it will run and disappear. Also very rarely the player could attack or mimic you making other players think it is you. To make it go away you can mix water and salt(new material in game with mob) which could be found if you put water in a fernice and turning into a splash potion and splashing it on yourself getting rid of the monster. The monster appears randomaly so its will be unexpected. (Not suppose to be herobrine, a different mob meant to be scary)
Seeing as Minecraft is mostly played by children, a ghost wouldn't do well. Also, switching around items and stuff will be frustrating on a whole new level. I'm already weary of there being stuff when I walk around a corner, and I don't need to know that there might actually be something around that corner.
Yeah true, but there is also the ghast and other mobs in the nether just as creepy. The moving around of items is understandable. Working hard to get something just for it to go missing.
