At 256 x 256 x 128, this is a big structure. Created in survival because I like the challenge of working for every block I place.
This first video is an introduction to my world, a leisurely walk from the original spawn point to the great pyramid. I'll post a few additional selections as I keep going, but please subscribe to my YouTube channel to see the whole thing.
A leap of faith, from the top of the world to the bottom, after climbing the entire distance.
The sandstone tower just north of my world's pyramid zone is excavated down to bedrock and built up to the height limit. Would you take the leap of faith from the upper platform?
I've got a set of bridges that give an aerial view of the floor of the great pyramid. Here's a really short video, running from one end to the other, then outside.
The small pyramids on the floor form a fractal pattern. Since this is a survival world, every block of netherrack on the floor was mined from the nether and placed here. There are about 60,000 of them.

I've added two new videos to my YouTube channel, a couple of leisurely walks.
This video is walk westward from my mesa base. After leaving the mesa biome and passing through grassland, I walk through a hilly savanna where I've built a mid-sized apartment building. When the western road ends at the ocean, I head north to some extreme hills. (More from there later.)
Music is from YouTube's audio library. Subscribe to see more!
I've taken a break from working on the pyramid. After posting the video above, I decided I wanted to expand my rail line. And I found a village southwest of the end of the road. The West Coast Express is nearly done. I'll probably post it tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned...
I'm back in the pyramid, excavating the central pyramid down. It's going down to bedrock eventually, but that's going to take a couple of months. Meanwhile, the archive house is going to be stuffed with cobble chests, so I'm going to alternate working on the pyramid with working on the south road, which will be paved with stone brick.
Thanks, Captain! It's a long project, which I do mainly for my own enjoyment, but it's nice to get some feedback once in a while.
I just realized I hadn't shared the latest addition to the central pyramid. After recording the previous video, I decided that it was a little dark inside, so I lit it up, putting torches eight blocks apart. In addition to lighting the interior, there's a subtle glow visible from the outside.
Another walk. I've finished the road south through the desert to the grassland where I'm going to build the dark tower. I cranked up the video settings, so the motion isn't too smooth, but it's cool to see the pyramid emerge form the distance on the walk back. I'd love to see this world rendered on a serious gaming machine at maximum distance.
After wandering around the small grassland area at the end of my south road, I decided that it wasn't suitable for the next project. So I took a long walk east to a larger grassland area. No videos yet because I'm just getting this started, but I'm going to take screenshots to mark the progress here.
Step one: Create the lawn that will surround the moat. 160 x 160 grassy area at level 72.
Has anyone seen this before? I found a ravine immediately below part of a river, so one section is completely filled with water. I've got a Respiration III helmet, so I can drift almost to the bottom before I need to breathe. There are fish and squid floating in the water column, but also falling out of the edges. It's like something out of the Abyss.

All aboard the West Coast Express! I've finished the northwestern leg of my rail line. Now to connect this distance in the nether...
