I got tired of burying my flip flop piston switches so I didn't have to hear them when I turned out the lights. Here is the link to my video I anyone finds it useful or can make it more compact please do and share. Link
I don't have the equipment to make proper tutorials so please excuse my noobness. There is a semi tut in the video description. Enjoy!
Mumbo did the same thing, but he used three dispensers & hopper instead of a chest in one corner. Same results, of course. And it's not COMPLETELY silent, since you can hear the dispensers. Other than that, congratz on the discovery! Honestly as far as a silent T-Flip Flop, I don't think you can get much more compact than that.
Did not know mumbo created one have to go review his tutes again. I know I showed fedx gaming and he made a even more compact design but it requires you to have the button on one of the droppers. Back to the drawing board lol. Hmmm lillypad elevator could work lol.
Silent Flip-Flops have been possible for a very long time if you just use digital logic gates, no moving parts. Using two AND gates and one SR NOR latch hooked up to the corresponding inputs/outputs works as a T Flip-Flop,
you can make a completely silent (other than the button press) flip flop by placing two hoppers into each other putting redstone dust on top of the hoppers, put one item into one of the hoppers put a comparator out of one of the hoppers. then add a redstone torch powering the redstone dust on the hoppers add a button to turn redstone torch on and off and your done.
only problem is there is a bug in the game right now so if you use this design it stops working if you go to nether or end untill you reload your game
