Based off of what everyone is saying who's seen our city map, we've come to the conclusion..... We officially have one of the largest city maps ever built on any console (damn you, PC, for being so superior lol)
Whooooo! People have been saying we have the largest, but there was one guy who mentioned one map back on X360 that might have been larger. Otherwise I'd be claiming we ARE the largest ^-^
So, seriously dudes/dudettes...
Come check us out! And we are ALWAYS recruiting. Info on how to build with us on our city is listed in the description of every video we have!
It may be large, but you are definitely putting quantity before quality. Most of this looks like you just rushed to get things done... Slow down, tear everything out, and set a better goal than trying to be the biggest, i could get a few friends and spend 2 weeks and fill out a whole map too, just because it's big doesn't make it impressive at all.
Thanks for the feedback It's appreciated, good & bad.
It's true.. This map is built entirely on Xbox, and most of it on Xbox 360 with a good portion of it being built 2+ yrs ago. It's just lately that we've been going hard.
We never tried for one of the largest, it just sort of happened. What, with a lot of our noob buildings thrown in there.
The whole thing started out with the owner (Dunemirage) inviting RL friends over to build houses. Alot of those friends have never played Minecraft. so it's true, there are some buildings in our city that are not overly good quality, but we've moved on from that. (and deleted some of them)
Now, we have dozens of international builders creating with us, and we're proud of the new work. Hell, we're proud of the whole city.
The entire story of Suburbia is humble in its origins.... It started out with a MC nerd asking friends to build a house around his, create a community. It completely spiralled out of control a year or so later, and more friends started building. We'd play for 2 months, then give it a rest for 6 months. It was a re-occuring phase.
Now, we've decided to expand and recruit others.
So, yes. It's legit noob, for portions of the map. But those portions were built by RL friends of ours who don't play MC on a regular basis (or at all). I like to think that a good portion of our map is now inhabited/built by more experienced Minecraft players.
I'm sorry for the older sections of Suburbia that seem sloppy. or outdated. The map is 2.5+ yrs old, with months segments in between when we actually built more. We've ALL learnt a ton since, and we have a lot of amazing builders with us now.
I hope you enjoy the new builds we have to offer, and can overlook the ancient builds (before we had a lot of blocks, etc) for Xbox 360.
Again, thank you for your feedback It is appreciated. Hope you can see past ye olden part of the city and focus on its potential.
We were never going for largest or anything. It is only something that is being told to us from those that have been on our map.
nah the argest map is mine.. i transferd it to xbox one. its larger now i have a youtube called Yochaoss i did 39 videos on thst world its bigger than buffalo soldiers.. my Gamertag Is MedievaLz
Those are some pretty big claims. I don't see a single interior in that video. Come back to us when you can do more than a building shell. You did 10% of the work. Our city is only about 60% done, but we're covering the entire 360 sized map in dense urban landscape. Every single building has an explorable interior. I don't want to hijack your thread, so you can see videos of our project in our thread on this very forum. It's called Desolation.
Edit - After seeing another one of your videos, it does appear you have a few interiors in some of the smaller buildings. That's a good start. I would recommend filling up your buildings before trying to increase the size of your city. Interiors go a long way in making your city actually feel alive. You also have a LOT of open areas that drastically make your city smaller. We still have a ways to go to fill it up, but I would say our city is already a lot larger than yours. All those buildings have interiors.
it's all good, the maps so old that tbh it's probably worth more to just start remodeling the older stuff or starting something else. i've only had mine for 2 months, and i roughly a quarter of 1 map (half is in 1 map, half a different) & the goal with mine is not to be the largest, but 1 of the most realistic. Good luck with the city in the future! hope you set a goal worth something.
