I'm wondering with the space constraint I've created for myself if there is any way to alternately lock these hoppers for this multi item sorter I was creating. I'm limited to a 1 wide space as you can see in the screen shot. I attempted a method using a torch tower and observers and repeaters, but of course the observer's fire the 0 tick pulse so it was a failure.

Any suggestions?

Sitting here at work thinking about this and came up with an idea. Wonder if I could do it with staggering repeaters. So I do every other hopper is a repeater going directly into the hopper, then each block that the repeater is sitting on has a repeater going into it, that way power reaches each hopper. I don't even think it'll end up powering my item elevator at all, so I should remain silent, I'll just have to be 1 or 2 blocks deeper. Let me see if I can illustrate below.

B = block

R = repeater

Then basically, I can chain this back behind my item elevator, and activate it with a typical torch tower, it makes my build 1 or 2 blocks deeper, but if it works right, it would be a silent, lossless, and low lag sorting system.

Anyone think it'll work?
