I'm trying to set up an automatic drop off system for my slime farm but my minecart with a hopper will only collect items on it's first run through. running on java 1.12.2
sorry i should've been more clear, do i need to have a set of hoppers at the bottom of the slime farm to collect the slime balls from on top of my magma blocks? I thought i could just have the minecart hopper run under it to collect them and bring them to to drop off into my storage system but the slimes only get collected when i send the cart off initially and then never again.

Put hoppers under the normal mine-cart track feeding into the chest (assuming you have a chest set up already).

Use a lever to dispense water to push the slime into hoppers.
