So this great idea popped up: spell books in vanilla Minecraft. A handful of friends and I managed to make some really cool spell books, but realized they require op permissions to be used. I'm looking to give players these spell books without worrying they'll create their own or straight hop in creative mode with op permissions.
My friend seems convinced there's a way to allow unopped players to trigger commands with a command book through an alternate means than just using the clickevent and directly activating the command.
I'd like to stay vanilla, but I'm willing to swap to a bukkit server and add some plugins or even mod if need be.
Please send me vanilla solutions first, I'd really like to have the satisfaction of hosting a super interesting Vanilla Minecraft Server.

Using the scoreboard command I've figured out a way to have spellbooks work for players without cheats. I don't know the exact command yet, but using
I can then have a command block
