Youtubers: How to build an effective blaze farm in survival! Look at all these blaze rods!
Also youtubers: Just gna pop into creative here to show you how to do this quickly.
I found an accessible spawner not too far from a portal. It connects on one side to a huge netherrack overhang that should give easy access. 2/3rds of it is over a huge drop. I'm thinking of pillaring up from the bottom to build a platform under the build site.
Just got me wondering if anyone has actually done this or if everyone uses creative.
Obviously they're not going to build it in survival to show you how to do it when they could build it a lot faster in creative. There's absolutely no reason to do that. Obviously the farms are meant for normal survival, but them actually building it in survival would make no difference whatseover for the purpose of the video.
Not a blaze farm, no, because I can't imagine actually needing anywhere close to that number of blaze rods and there's far easier ways to get exp. A blaze farm design exists just because it can, it's not actually worth doing. You could just make a big village full of farmers and an auto melon farm to get exp far faster and easier while also making tons of emeralds, to say nothing of what you could get by adding a pumpkin and egg farm to it.
Drat, I'm already on my way to building the blaze farm. Starting with a box around the whole exterior dimensions with staircases on the inside and out. Haven't produced the pistons yet so...
I've had only bad luck with villagers in villages so far. The villages just slowly depopulate or zombify as I interact with them. Maybe I'll give it another try.
You're saying that the auto melon farm is integrated into the village?
Just have it nearby. You can trade 20 slices to each villager for their base price every second day for 5 emeralds per villager. It sounds like a lot, but melon slices are produced so quickly by the auto farm that all you have to do is not trade for a couple of days to get ahead of the curve. Pumpkins and especially eggs are another story though.
It's very good for exp. I can repair a tool from almost 0 to full with only about 25 farmers, I believe.

Have you built a whole one in survival w/o using creative?
