In the Xbox One Edition, you used to be able to pause your game as long as it was set to a Singleplayer world. Now, on the "Minecraft" version (the one with the new crafting interface) you can't, no matter what mode you're on. Any answer as to why that's been changed? It adds absolutely nothing to the game and seems more like an overlooked detail than a change that you thought would be good, but still. What's with the change?
My guess is that it was probably just easier to make it that way? I'm in support of an actual pause in single player which is all I play. Last year one of the devs had mentioned on twitter something about adding in an actual pause but I haven't heard anymore since and I don't recall who it was that said that.
And yes, fancy pants dinosaur , you can barricade yourself but it would be somewhat more convenient to just hit a single button to pause the game.
