I tried to make a fully efficient spider farm, but this was so much harder than i realised as spiders are soooooo annoying. My first problem was just the transportation of them as they would always get stuck in the pipes, climbing a wall. When i finally sorted that out, i realised that i was an absolute idiot for trying to make them take fall damage, as they would just climb back up the wall before falling. So what i ended up doing was making a 6x7 tunnel to make sure they definitely fell, and now i have a large collection, almost like an arena of spiders waiting at the bottom. I don't really need help, just wanted to share this to warn people about the stress this method can cause lol. I doubt anyone else would be as stupid as me but it's quite a unique idea haha, its not too dangerous as all spiders are one hit but its probably not ideal.
Also, just wanted to add that this was also a way for me to get better at redstone and general mechanics, i'm making an on and off, lighting switch to this farm too so i can get better and experiment with the game whilst having abit of fun with it.

Just for the xp really but I still got a Minecraft hopper storage thing going round for storage. At the bottom of the pit I surrounded it with a 1 block high + trapdoor peep hole to punch them, seems to be working well tbh.
The only reason I could think of for putting this much work into a spider spawner would be for the string to trade to villagers for emeralds, but it's not even automatic. For how much effort this took, you would have been much better served developing an enderman farm instead.

Haha I get what you mean but I liked that this was right next to the base, also it was ABIT of fun tbh and it didn't take as long as an enderman farm haha
P.S I would love to make an enderman farm eventually too.

Do you have a use for all of the spider drops or did you make it just for the xp?
If you were to surround the killing room with 1 wide openings you could kill the spiders without them being able to get at you.
