My nephew ran into a problem and his Uncle is the one that "should know the solution!"
He's playing Minecraft PE on Android in Creative mode. Or at least he was - he kind of got discouraged by this a few days ago and is felling depressed about MC!
Anyhow, he built all kinds of buildings, etc, etc, on a local stored world. He then started building and walking through portals. He made a portal to go into the Volcano, but when he came back out he stands in a blank field. Can't find his buildings or anything for miles around. One of the portals was built with a stack of yellow stones beside it (so he could find it back), but he can't find it either.
We crafted a map but it only shows the two portals in the grass field and nothing else.
So then we crafted a compass and followed the red end. It just goes on and on and on, without ever actually getting anywhere.
Lastly, we started digging a hole until we saw the other side, jumped in and we were floating UNDER the world, looking up at black "dirt/ground".
Someone else suggeted changing to Survival mode, killing yourself and respawning - how do we do this?
Anyone have a suggestion how he can get back to his buildings or find a way home?
Killing himself would take him to the original spawn location if he hasn't slept in a bed... also if he turns on coordinates he just needs to go back to 0 to get to spawn. When you go to the nether (through the portal) every 1 block you move, is equal to 8 blocks in the normal world, so it doesn't take much to get really far out.
