Hi folks. I've recently started playing Minecraft again after not playing for some time. Last time i played, each time I duplicated a map and stuck it in a frame in a building, that building would show as a green blob. However, all the other buildings on that map would show as black blobs. When I duplicate a map now however, it only shows that one building and doesn't show any of the others which is getting very frustrating. Is this a 'fix' of some kind or have I just forgotten something really basic? Any advice will be happily received
I've never heard of that happening, can you post some screenshots?
Unfortunately not. I came back to Minecraft after losing a hard drive and the worlds that were saved on it. It hasn't happened since I started playing again.
When you make a map and then continue to build, the map doesn't update until you hold it again. With regards to the colour, surely it would depend on the material you're using. It would only be black if using obsidian or black wool?
If you clone a map, then place it in an item frame it shows a marker on the maps (both maps). In the past, you could keep making more clones of your map and add more markers. But right now when you place a second clone into a frame, the first marker will disappear. Forget the colors, he was referencing the marker colors which act like "you are here" indicators.

That was exactly it. Is the fact that they no longer appear a bug or was the fact that they did appear a bug that's been 'fixed' does anyone know? I've always found it frustrating that you can't add markers to the maps to show areas rich in resources. As a thought, are there any recommended apps that I can use to create a map that I can add markers too?
Install the Journey Map mod. Needs Forge too. Otherwise, there are several external mapping utilities, look on the wiki for them, but they are separate programs, you can't access them in game.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.
Ah, so it is, did not catch that, my bad. Right, mods are out, and I don't know about any external mappers that handle bedrock edition. The wiki doesn't list any that are recent.

Yeah, happens to me too. Seemed to start at the 1.2 update. Seems to be a bug. I haven't found any work around.

Well iveI never known it to leave any marker in any colour other than green.
I don't actually see any markers at all except the green little icon of where I am standing.
How do you duplicate a map? I need to go look that one up, I guess.
