Anyone else getting super annoyed with floating vines that are left over from chopping down trees.
I’m m trying to clear out a large portion of a jungle biome on a server (which has firespread off) and I’ve spent more than an hour just clearing away floating vines and I’m still not done. Mojang needs to fix this bug. Until then I’m just going have to clear out floating vines before I can build my base.
The devs know about the issue, i'm too lazy to link the bug report. This bug has been around since early beta, and lord knows when it will be fixed. I feel your pain, as I live in a swamp, though not as bad as a jungle, its still quite annoying. Whats worse is that if you leave them, I find that if there are enough it causes serious render lag.
Its supposed to be handled via random block updates, when a block is removed either manually or via block updates, its supposed to trigger other block updates around the block that was removed, if these are vines, and if they are not attached to some block then they are supposed to be removed. This code is either not hooked, or missing.
Its considered 'low priority' as it is not game breaking, or will not cause the game to crash, so when we will see it fixed is anyone's guess. There are plenty of bugs for them to fix, so I would not hold my breath on seeing this one fixed anytime soon, however ya never know.
