So, we have a griefer on the realm and we need to find out who caused it. A house was looted and destroyed. Wood got burnt, blocks was taken and diamonds too. I have a time scale on when it happened and would love to find the logs on the server to see who was on between then and who could've caused it. Sooooo is there anything that I could do to help me find the griefer?
Best thing to do is setup a few trap chests in private places. Link it to a command block which teleports them into a bedrock prison. But if they kill themselves they go back to spawn point. So... Put a button in that prison that says press for exit. Have that button linked to another command block which sets their spawn point in prison. They will leave after that.
The only problem with this is, what if the person is only trying to open the chest and not steal anything? A workaround would be to have a rule of "no opening other people's chest." But there is still a chance of someone who is curious but not a grief opening the chest.
Download a plugin like Core Protect or Worldguard. I'd recommend both. CoreProtect allows you to rollback a chunk of land to a previous date (Ex. Before the grief happens.) Worldguard can also allow you to disable explosions, block-breaking, block-placing, and certain commands. CoreProtect also lets you see who edited the terrain and how (Ex. If somebody blew up a house, it will tell you who.) I hope this helps you!
