I've been playing on a cool seed (hah! not sharing!) and built my first nether portal away from spawn, in a nice tiaga biome. Luckily the nether fortress was within view from the portal as soon as I exited. (yay!) I fully explored the fortress, snagged all the loot, and made some blaze grinders. Upon return to spawn, I built a 2nd portal. This one (unlucky?) put me underneath a lava flow, which I had to ascend the nether to quickly plug up the source. While up high, I saw that a nether fortress was very close by! (yay again!) I was exploring this one and I came to one of those dead ends, but instead of netherrack it was nether brick. I punched through and behold! It connected to the other fortress I'd already explored!
Has this ever happened to anyone before, adjacent fortresses? I didn't think it was possible....
