With one of the latest patches, it was finally changed so that modders could add mobs for their resource packs instead of being forced to replace the normal ones.
Does this mean that we as players can now add more than one modpack at once? The way it worked before, we could, for example, only have the dinosaur pack active to add dinosaurs, or the safari pack active to add african animals, and not both. Has this also been updated?
Assuming the creators have gone back and updated their packs to reflect these changes, could I use more than one at a time? I am on Xbox by the way.

Dapper, I would only assume that if the creators of those packs have gone back and made the changes that this would be possible. However, I don't recall if 1.8 supported the new entities or if the coming 1.9 will.
Theoretically, the answer is yes. If I created a dinosaurs pack that had new dinosaur entities and you created one that was let's say, Robots, by utilizing the new entities, we should be able to have dinosaurs, robots, and all the vanilla entities.
One would think, but at the same time, if the developers of their mods DON'T go back and fix them, you still have to start a new world for those modpacks and can only have one, which makes them effectively useless.
Which packs did you use? My friend tried the Luxury Life pack and it still made him use a new world just to load it, and all of the mobs were still being replaced.

Yeah it works. The spawn egg textures might bug though and appear as the spawn egg of another added entity
