so, it apparently that the next-gen world size isn't really enough in my opinion at least... so I heard that 4j studios can't make infinite sized worlds because of save size limits rules by sony and microsoft, why not using dedicated servers to make them, because pocket edition has infinite worlds so why not xbox one or ps4?? huh?

Dedicated servers cost money. I also can't see how youcan say that the current world size is too small. What is it that your doing that requires more space?
Running from one corner of the map to the other in under an hour is not my definition of "massive". I am in full support of Infinite worlds, however I'm beginning to notice a trend with the word "Infinite" being tossed around. When I say, "Infinite worlds would be nice", I mean a world size that holds my interest longer than a few updates before I need to create a new world because my existing one has ran out of unloaded chunks. I get it. The worlds can't be infinite. But would making them up to par with PC world size kill the console?
I also see a lot of, "You already have plenty of space." Or, "The world is big enough." Right. It is big and it IS plenty of space. The problem is exploration for resources and seeing what's on the other side of that mountain range is an exhilarating and addicting experience in Minecraft -- and that's a good thing! It's really fun to explore in this game. However, it's also fun to build in this game too. Well it's kind of a Catch 22, because now I've built some pretty cool stuff and have fully explored the world in just under a month or two. Well now the next update is out and features new biomes and structures like the Underwater Temple. Since the "massive" world is fully explored, I can't enjoy the new biomes or gather new resources found in the update.
So I'm left with three options, which neither of the three are great: 1) Create yet another world, leaving behind all the work I've put into building structures, bases, farms, etc and all the resources I've gathered. 2) Ignore the updates and be thankful that I'm able to receive subtle additions such as new recipes and horses, etc, leaving behind cool new biomes to explore like Spiked Ice, Mesa, Dark Wood and all the new resources they offer. 3) Just go into creative mode and import items from the update that I can't get anywhere else, which to me, is the least desirable. I don't like things given to me. I like challenge and excitement; not opening a menu and selecting items from a list.
Those are my options. Don't give me, "limit your exploration", excuse. Sorry. The game is fantastic and I've put hundreds of hours into both the 360 and One editions of MC, spread out on different worlds ofcourse due to updates. Still absolutely love it. But to me, there comes a point where creating a new world and tossing everything I've worked, planned, and gathered aside just to enjoy the latest update becomes old and begs the question, "why bother, I'm just going to do the same thing again with the next TU"
Anyway, the answer is obvious and that is to overhaul the world size again and make it up to par with PC to the point where creating new worlds is for the sake of fun instead of punishment because the world size has reached its limit. Hope what I have written here is agreeable.

if you want "up to par" with PC, they have this great thing called PC, it's 100% up to par.
im not going to pretend to know why they made the maps the size they did, but something tells me its for a reason. Back when they switched to the anvil system (coding for the blocks, not the actual anvils) they modified how air worked and freed up some space, allowing them to increase hight limit. Possibly adding a few blocks on the sides too, I'm not sure.
my guess is if it could be bigger, then it would be. That being said, unless they come up with some new way to trim the fat, I don't think they will be making more room for larger worlds. Even then, I would rather they work on more important things, new things.
In reply to Hollowgrave, Now that's what i've been wanting to say this all the time, but people just keep saying "its already big enough" and things like that, it really ticks me off seeing people don't want infinite worlds, why?
I love exploration, I don't want to limit myself in a worldor create a new world as a punishment just to enjoy the new biomes, wow that sucks man, I hope they make infinite worlds in a future update I really hope
And again, there will never be "infinite" worlds because "infinite" worlds take up more space per save file than Microsoft and Sony allow. If you want "infinite" worlds, get a PC or download the app. There is no other way.
How do we truly know what the console is capable of? I mean has the company even TRIED to import a infinite map and tried it out privately?
The map may be too small or just right, but you say that "It's impossible." when you don't truly know "IF" it's possible. People said that infinite maps on cell phone and mobile devices was impossible for Pocket Edition. And they even added infinite as a TESTING feature. After a while, they added infinite maps to only singleplayer, and no LAN or anything can't be used on infinite maps. So the solution would be is this:
Add infinite worlds as a TEST. You can only play in single player, and that it. After about three minecraft days, it gives you a pop-up saying
"would you like to keep infinite maps" and it gives you "yes" "no" "remind me later" so you can have it pop up later to vote. Only one account can vote once.
So how far can the console go for size? We may never know.

Notch, before he quit Microsoft, said that he could have made the world's infinite if he could, at some gaming convention (Maybe E3?) So the consoles are moat likely capable of running "infinite" worlds
Then why wouldn't they do it? That's stupid.... It's one of the core features from Minecraft, exploration, while getting new and new biomes in every update in the same world and creating a new one....it wouldn't be Minecraft if it wasn't infinite, It would be limited Minecraft Xbox One Edition.

I have it already on PC already, though God forbid I play it on my consoles too. Minecraft is much more enjoyable without world size limitations and that is why I'm posting on the forums about it. I'd rather not play the "dumbed downed" version because it's on a console, which I believe could handle the world size no sweat.
Though what I'm hearing more often than anything else is, "Sony/MS don't want save files becoming too excessive." Which is disappointing if that's the best excuse they can come up with since The Master Chief Collection weighs in at 65 GBs.
Guys, I've found this topic on Xbox User Voice, this website is for xbox feedback from people's ideas and comments about anything they want and Microsoft and 4J might respond for it, make sure you tweet this to 4J Studios, they might see it...
Instead, make your OWN world that you create before it spawns you into it. Like insert biomes, mobs, weather, time changes, structure spawning.... That'd be sick.

I would love to see Infinite world size also or at the very least much bigger world size than we currently have because I too love to explore my minecraft worlds but unfortunately 4J said in an interview before the PS4 and X1 ports were to be released, that they can't really do infinite world size because of our save files being on the hard drive and the way the game handles multiplayer which is kinda disappointing since X1 and PS4 are supposed to be next gen and on par w/PC(according to Microsoft and Sony). You can read the article here:http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/may/28/minecraft-36-times-larger-on-ps4-and-xbox-one
Response to Producer_K...Why getting it on PC, why can't they make it PS4 or X1? huh I don't want to create new worlds every update, that's not cool man...
I hope they make them by dedicated servers, Realms or something like that...

For the 3rd time, because of save size limitations
Any thoughts??
I don't want to create new limited worlds every update just to get new and new biomes and to get really limited items like horse armor, saddle, etc...
