they confirmed on Twitter that you can load custom skins and resource packs to a USB stick and load them into the game on X1 Bedrock. There is also one that lets you just have coords on the lower right corner at all times.
They haven't said. And to put it bluntly, this is the X1 section, not the Switch.
Frankly, this game is owned by Microsoft. They don't HAVE to support anything but W10 and Xbox. They very well could have made those two versions Bedrock and shut out everything else. They didn't because it would be bad business.
The old console versions will continue to exist and honestly, I'm amazed at that- I expected Bedrock to totally replace it. To expect them to continue to pay a third party to develop a game that, at best would be a sales competitor on their own turf, not to mention confuse consumers and divide the community even more is ludicrous.

I'm sure the bottom line drove that decision, MCCE is still profitable, and MS isn't about to alienate Sony and old gen users (any more than they already have) just because Sony decided not to participate in the bedrock update and old gen isn't powerful enough to run it. The days are certainly numbered on 4j as minecraft developers though. When bedrock arrives and people start migrating en-masse to it the profitability will disappear, and so will MCCE.
"I respect people's opinions except when I don't". Yeah, not worth continuing this conversation any further.
yeah, that is not even what I said.
Beleive me, I would like to talk about the pros and cons for switching, there are good things. But when people say that console edition always sucked in 2012 or when ever it first released, it's kind of annoying. I just want to have a discussion, not an argument.
Isn't it best to wait until the beta is out on xbox one before discussing whether they should keep updating the current edition or not?
Until we can all see how the beta performs and what the servers and mini games are like, we cant really say whether discontinuing the current edition really is a bad thing or not.
This thread has gotten a bit hostile and beta isn't even out yet.
"Xbox One Edition" is the 4J version. Its what we have now. Bedrock MC *MUST* have unlimited on console because it has it on Windows 10.
Or do you think you'll be cross playing with someone on PC, come to a map border only for your friend to disappear?
Q: Are there infinite worlds in Minecraft?
A: Yes! And, if you play with a world from Minecraft: Xbox One Edition or Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition it will keep generating more world when you get to the old edge of your map.

When the mixer stream is available on demand watch it.
I could swear he was on about the bedrock edition because he mentioned needing realms for infinite worlds. When I said xbox one edition I meant xbox one version of better together.
As for playing someone on PC. If they are hosting the world they will be the server so the unlimited world will be stored on their PC and not the console.
If what I heard was correct then it's a major disappointment. I couldn't care less about servers. I just want infinite worlds but looks like I will have to pay for realms to get an infinite world.
Those Mixer streams are 4J people playing the 4J version. They are NOT Mojang and they don't know the details of Bedrock. Not to mention they flat out lied in last years E3 Q&A, the same day all this was first announced.
Then they are lying or wrong. For what you are saying to be true oes against all indications, in print, from Mojang and literally breaks the core function of Bedrock, in that it is identical code on all versions. And I have tested W10 Bedrock myself; Ive flown in creative far from the edge of where the map would stop on console.

I sincerely hope they are wrong or I heard them wrong. I'm currently watching the video again on Twitch to see if I can find it.
You just can't do that on Switch, now can you.

If you make a post with a poll in a discussion sub forum expect people with different opinions posting. Are you even serious?!
I will no longer reply to spam or hate posts.
So this thread will die since pretty much everyone has a different opinion than you. We all must be wrong since millions don't want change.
I'm quite tired of your negative attitude. I respect people's opinions but not when hey call me out for wanting to keep console edition.

You're actually right! Wow ok just wait until the beta to post again lol.
Just changed my vote to NO.
Was just watching the minecraft channel on Mixer and someone asked about infinite worlds.
He said the xbox one edition wont be getting infinite worlds due to file size restrictions. You need to pay for a realm if you want infinite worlds.
So seems that if what he said was true then I would rather stay on the console edition and keep my map coordinates
That was unexpected but another reason to sign the petition I guess.

My thinking is if you join a Windows 10 friend on Xbox One it will have the infinite part since it's not saving to your system.

No they are not 4j people.
They are the official PR people for Mojang/Microsoft. They are american and are streaming from Microsoft in America
4J are scottish and would be streaming from Scotland
