So in desert biomes only, I think it would be kinda cool if there was a chance of a zombie spawning as a mummy.
It would be the zombie base but would look kinda wrapped. Maybe have some wraps hanging off of the arms.
It would be like a 1 in 200 chance of it spawning and it could have the cave spider poison effect.
It doesn't have to be its own mob.
It could happen with regular zombie eggs only it would be like paintings.
You just have to get lucky with getting the one you want.
It would have regular zombie attacks and damage but with the chance to poison you like a cave spider.
It would drop rotten flesh with a 1 in 10 chance to drop 1-3 paper and a 1 in 50 chance to drop 1-3 string.
Also, as a possible add-on, they can survive sunlight.
Another possible add-on is if they leave the desert they start taking biome damage like a snow golem does.
I have something to add on:
They can commonly spawn in Pyramids, and it would be cool if there can be a tomb opening and then the Mummy crawls out. That would creep me out though
Maybe it could drop embalmed flesh. Also, it should be its own mob. Just so that they can be spawned outside the desert biomes by players. You don't want another developer laziness thing that is like the wither skeleton screw up right? For those of you that don't know what that is, the wither skeletons in the PC version are a skeleton variant that can only be spawned in the nether. It is rather stupid because they could have gone the extra 10 feet and made it its own mob.

So... It's.. no different than a normal skeleton?? Yeah... I agree with you
these puns are so bad, i'm begging to be mummified.
i should go join the peace corpse.
that one didn't make sense.
dead threads tell no tales.
but in all seriousness it was a fun thought while it lasted and i still think it'd be interesting to see. guess the suggestion wasn't as bone-afied as i thought.
don't mind me, they embalmed my sense of humor.
these jokes are getting stiff.
time to put this on ice before someone kicks the bucket at me and i end up pushing daisies.
i bit some big crackers, they needed some big cheese.
that one wasn't funny at all.
but back to the topic at hand, do you think it'd be too rigorous of a task?
I like the idea, I just don't have much to add to it...
Upon reflection, however, I think the conditions I had put in place are more than really necessary...
Just use the normal Zombie spawn rules, but if it spawns in a desert biome area, it spawns as a Mummy instead of a Zombie.
Additionally, what about maybe instead of a Zombie Villager (natural) Spawn, it could be a Zombie Pharoah...which is just like a Zombie villager for all intents and purposes (just a cosmetic change), including the ability to turn back to a normal villager using a splash potion of weakness and a golden apple. (Villagers converted in desert biomes would just become normal zombie villagers, not Pharoahs ... that only applies to rare natural spawns)?

How about instead of a TNT trap in the temples, it just endlessly spawns a crap ton of mummies if you touch the pressure plate? The temple stays in one piece and the loot doesn't get destroyed.
why the gorilla gotta be black?! pft. racist.
Okay fine.. Big Albino Gorilla Golem!

^^^^ Click it! You know you want to...
should we start a biome specific mob thread?
Sure why not. Before this gets closed by the brown coats for being "redundant, off topic"
they have
mods for that i believe

You got to three pages of discussion though, that's good. Also, don't dig up old threads.
it just rose from the dead.
it didn't stay under wraps.
the conversations were all wrapped up anyways.
the thread had been buried.
guess they're gonna entomb it now.
