Hi everybody!
I would like to share with you our new service of generating userpics from minecraft skins http://minecraftskinavatar.com
It allows you to create such kind of nice userpics made from mc skins
Features:
Userpic generating by nick
Userpic generating from skin-file on your local computer
Different styles:
with/without head accessory,
different pixel-size,
different stroke width and colour
different tiers of blurness
with transparent background or with radial-gradient of any colour.
sepia filter
Fully client-side. Notice: js and canvas are used, so that can be displayed incorrect in Internet Explorer and maybe some other browsers
Edit: Assuming this is your site, It looks great. Few things.
Where users can type in a username to gather that persons char.png, instead of having a button that says download, remove that and just have it update on keypress = enter.
By the way: if someone wants to help us to translate this service into another language (for example French) - let me know in PM and i'll send you short resource-file to translate.
Hi.
Little news:
1)More languages on site
2)REST-style public API:
Now you can use our service to generate avatars for your users.
Just do http-GET request in form below:
<not_found_mode> response in case of absence of skin (non license nick or some other reason) not_found - returns 404 steve - returns avatar made from steve's skin. Useful for communities when not every username is a minecraft player's nick.
<figure> - figure) classic - classic (first of our avatar type) tall - figure with separate legs round - rounded "pokemon" styled figure
<size> - width in pixels: 24,32,48,64,96,128
<nick> - minecraft player's name
Working on java (netty) + cloudflare as cdn&cache so it must be fast enough.
Issues,Limitations & etc:
Avatars and skins cached for 7 days (maybe we reduce this value later)
No "head accessory" right now. (Soon with 1.8 skin support)
I used this to make my avatar logo here on Minecraft Forums. Thanks for making this! (If in fact, YOU made it)
