Nope. There is no way so far. The PE engine for transparency isn't available as much in PC. I'm currently suffering in this too so hang in there. Hope Mojang does something next time.

I made a custom texture for my villagers and they don't seem to work. I added another layer for the "head" bone that the villager have in "mobs.json".
As seen in the screenshot, the white parts are supposed to be transparent.
Does anyone know a workaround for this issue.
