Hey I love the pack man but I noticed you where missing some textures for your pigmen and cloth armor and such. So here's a updated nonprofit download link, be happy to use it for your next build (its using your latest build assets if you don't mind [from 32x pack]). Also please inform me when you can fix the bugs for the items since its just killing me right now, so far I can only use this pack with the item file from dokucraft lately as I only play survival...

Thanks! I'll definitely merge those files into the build.
For the items bug - it's a MCPE issue with 32x texture packs so there's no way around it. I uploaded a 16x version of the pack yesterday though, which solves all of the issue. The res is lower obviously but honestly I think it's the best of both worlds. You get John Smith with no 32x bugs and good performance too. I'm using the 16x version myself. I switch to the 32x here and there to admire a build, but on an ongoing basis 16x is for me. If you use that one you won't have any item bugs or block issues.
That's the best example that I can give as the other items in my hand are to large to see without me actually using them.
Thanks. That does look big.. I'm on a Nexus 7 so I haven't noticed it as much with more screen real estate.
The items file is sized the same as the default one, with only the item images replaced so the sizing should be very similar to the original. Some of the John Smith items images themselves are definitely larger than the default ones so that may be part of it. I'll take another look at the files though and maybe test against the default for sizing.

Sorry VerLordZ I think I found the problem. I had an issue with MediaFire (file host) not overwriting the texture pack zip file. I think the one hosted had the wrong items file in it from what I tested locally. I've deleted the old 16x file and reuploaded it. I've updated the OP.
That should have the same items setting file as stock (16x) and the items image file is the same size too. Here's an example GIF of stock vs. John Smith (16x). See this that download helps. I still haven't merged your mob/clothing files yet but will soon.
Couldn't this also been the problem with the 32x items aswell? But if that doesn't do it can you just edit some of the items as the bow looks very strange here's a link to the picture. Also there is a another link to the bed as it looks like there is a piece of wood on it...
Just confirmed same problem with the 32x texture pack, just reupload it with the same item fix that you did on the 16x version and it should work as its way to large on my screen, also when you reupload it don't forget to change the lava and water texture pack to normal MCPE textures so all the weird bugs will stop happening.

Fixed the bed block bug. I had the bed bottom where the top should have been (MCPE doesn't actually use the bottom tile/block).
The water/lava bug is a MCPE 32x bug not a bug of the textures so I can't fix that one. Long story short MCPE has hardcoded the location of the fire and water animation tiles within the block sprite, so that when you use a bigger sprite (1024x512) for 32x textures instead of 512x256 for 16x textures, MCPE overlays the animations for fire and water over the wrong tiles. In 0.9.5 they happen to be tree leaves and the tops of some plant tiles. It changes slightly from version to version if the devs update the block image sprite. (terrain_atlas.tga).
Here's a simple example of the 32 and 16x tile sprites overlaid over another. See how the fire and water tiles from the 16x sprite overlap when compared to the bigger 32x. Doing this will always tell you exactly which blocks MCPE will bug out on the animations. in 0.9.5 it's tree leaves and wheat at stages 0 and 1.
There is no way around this currently as the animation pixel locations aren't available to change. Maybe a modder could find it editing the hex codes / assembly language but it definitely can't be done by straight texture pack changes. That's why you either have to use 16x (where the new texture images line up) or disable animations altogether using the No Animated Textures mod (also linked in the OP). My modding abilities end at ModPE (block launcher scripts) which also can't touch this bug.
Ok both the 16x and 32x versions have been fixed. I discovered the beetroot item image was missing as well in both so that's fixed too. Download links should be updated.
When you fix items being the correct items instead of random textures for items you hold like the sword is just a red corner.PS. talking about 32×32
This is a bug in all 32x or higher texture packs. If the item sizes images are sized above 16x this happens. MCPE isn't natively compatible with higher res textures. If you want a completely bug free experience you have to use the 16x version. This is true of all packs that are high res.
I may try posting a 3rd version with 32x blocks and 16x items to work around that. It'll mean items in the inventory, etc. will look low res but it should fix the held-item bug.

Here a me going to be a noon but is their anyway you. Can replace all the buggy 32x blocks into 16x blocks or do they have to be the same resoultion?
Hi everyone,
I've ported John Smith Legacy (with permission) to work with MCPE 0.12.1 on Android. All credit goes to John Smith and the Legacy team. Enjoy!
The port is available currently available in 16x only. The non-native 32x version is too buggy. I am working on it and hope to release it as well.
Port includes all blocks, items, mobs, containers, environment (sky, etc.). I did not port the GUI. I may in the future add it back in.

Sheep textures were bugged- Fixed!Permission:
While I have no interest in other versions of Minecraft I know others do and it's good to see others port the pack, so go for it and good luck.

I'll have to see about permissions on that one. A'therys is huge and they may not want it ported. Would be cool though. I'll see what they say.
hmm.. can you post a screenshot or elaborate on the issue? I don't think I have the same problem that I noticed anyway..

Good catch - I've merged your fixes into the main download for both 32 and 16x versions.

Hope that helps make sense of the 32 vs 16 issue.
Thanks a lot, and yeah sure go for it. Please credit it as you mentioned.
Strange... I'll have to test that out. I'll check it out.
Edit: Yes you're right. The ingot image must be missing from the items sprite. Bugfix coming soon!
