A problem I keep having with using texture packs is that whenever I use a higher resolution texture (for example 128x) somehow the default water animation stays the same texture while also popping up on a random block such as grass and a lot smaller than it should be...
Is there any way to fix this? I know the solution for the PC version is to use something like MCPatcher or Optifine or something like that, but has anything like that been made for IOS or Android yet?
Oh and I'm playing mcpe on an iPhone 5 if that changes anything
My com.mojang.minecraftpe is just "Minecraft PE" and when I try to put it in minecraftpe.app it doesn't work!
DO I have to have Minecraft PE open on my iPhone 4S?
iOS is 6.0.1
Guys, guys. iOS 6 and higher doesn't allow files to be changed on minecraft PE and almost every other app in the AppStore. Either downgrade to 5.1.1 or lower, or you'll just have to wait till mojang implements a self-texturepack-downloader to change your textures.
So, I have just figured out how to install texture packs onto the iOS version of MC:PE. Your device does not need to be jailbroken! Thanks TOTtomdora.
Step 1: Download iExplorer.
Step 2: Plug your iPod/iPhone/iPad into your computer.
Step 3: Download your favorite x16/x32/x64/x128 texture pack, and extract the "terrain.png".
Step 4: Open up iExplorer and go here:
Step 5: Drag the "terrain.png" file into the iExplorer window.
Step 6: Press "Yes" or "OK" to any windows that come up about deleting/replacing.
Step 7: ???
Thanks to TOTtomdora for talking about iExplorer.
You have successfully installed a texture pack onto Minecraft PE. Enjoy!
I tried doing what you said and this came up when I click on com.mojang.minecraftpe "this iOS device appears to have reached its limit of connecting to 5 app directories for this session. please reconnect the device or restart iExplorer to access this directory." I did what it said and it keeps coming up so if can help?
If you search youtube for "Minecraft:How to install texture packs for PE" there's a video that shows how to do what this post says. But it still does not seem to work for me. I downloaded the dokucraft texture pack for PE and replaced the terrain file with Iexplorer fine. (except when it says theres a limit reached (just restart Iexplorer until you can access the mojang folder)). But when I started up Minecraft PE and loaded the map, the textures were still default. I just went back into Iexplorer and looked at the terrain file I had replaced, and its same size as the default terrain.png. Yet the terrain.png you use from the Dokucraft is much larger. Does it get shrunk down when copied over to the Ipad or is it just not copying at all, but telling me it is?
