Thanks MrMoopig for the video, map and idea of the functional redstone alternatives creeper:
I recreated MrMoopig's creeper such that the creeper will start to explode once any player go inside the blast radius of the creeper. The glass layer represents the blast radius. The creeper will not explode if you do not break the glass layer and go into it.
If you set your difficulty to peaceful BEFORE entering the world, you will see some additional redstone alternatives.
There is a bug in MCPE where TNT will sometimes not exploding certain blocks including TNT/wool. If this happened, download the map and try it again.
I don't understand what your saying I tried the map but can I have a little hint on how it detects you
I know it has something to do with zombie pigmen
When you set the difficulty to normal, the modded nether portal will only spawn zombie pigman when you are within 40 meters of the reactor core. They drop onto the farmland below them, converting it into dirt. I modded a floating carpet layer beneath the farmland layer, therefore when the farmland is updated, the floating carpet disappears and so as the surrounding signs.
There is a lava source inside the creeper's head. When the signs disappears, there are some air blocks inside the creeper's head and the lava start to flow, burning the wool and igniting the TNT.

Thanks and thanks for making a video about this! Your video is being added in this thread.
I have added a link to the proximity detector and difficulty indicator used to make this proximity creeper. Hope you can get the idea.

Yes indeed, you can make a lot of things using redstone alternatives
What do you want to make? You can use my proximity detector world and edit it.
