As time goes on mobile devices are becoming more and more common for gaming. I have been a long time Minecraft player on both the PC and PS4 and have not really extended to much into the PE edition. I purchased it a couple years ago when it was new and never really looked to much at it. Well how it has changed and been updated! This is exciting.
I am considering setting up a new server for PE players with a more "older crowd" as its base of players. Nothing to crazy, some creative areas, mild economy with towns. Maybe a couple small games as PE grows.
Being that I am in my mid 30's I am not looking for people to help pay for it but I am curious to see if there would even be a player base for it.
Hello, I am 19. Name is Jon. I would be interested In joining, I have played MC on PC for like 3 or 4 years and just started on the MCPE about a week ago. I am also starting a YouTube channel so I would like to make a series on the server if I do get accepted if you wouldn't mind of course. Although I've only played singleplayer so I'm not sure of how to join a server. Anyways thanks for your time and I hope to make it on the server.
Thanks for the feedback. I will go ahead and get one setup over the next couple days and post the IP and information shortly. The 18+ could be adjusted for "matured attitude" players. I am just not going to tolerate people that try destroy what others build or are generally rude.
Its to be a fun environment.
I will start with a 10 slot one and if it stays pretty full consistently I will add more slots.
These servers will be built for the community, so with that being said any name suggestions ?
Hmmmmm name suggestion... honestly I'm no good at names but I think that once more people get on here and are interested we could all come up with a pretty decent name that we can agree on
Just purchased the server. Going to setup a couple basic plugins for general security then will start adding people. I am not going to be strict on age's per se, but more on maturity levels. BulletJon your in and MissGodessXox you are in also.
If anyone else is interested in helping with this new server, add to this post. When I create the actual thread for people to join I will tag you to come apply.
Alright everyone so here is an update on the server.
Good news:
I have the server purchased, a mining world and regular world setup. Permissions and a registration system. Still need to setup ranks and permissions. Economy is setup as well as the ability to purchase land to build on. It still all needs to be tested fully. Also spawn area with signs and directions of server need made. So much work... but basically lots of progress.
Bad news:
A couple days ago MCPE was updated to a new version on devices. This new update is pretty big and the server software needs to get updated to support the latest client. So until this is released we cannot connect to the server with the latest MCPE that was released a couple days ago. Hopefully the dev's will have a stable version out shortly but all we can do is hope... but its out of my hands.
Work around option:
If you know how to install an older version of MCPE then you would be able to connect to the server and start working on it. If not then you'll have to wait for the new server software to be released so I can update it and then the latest MCPE clients can connect.
So if anyone wants to join and maybe start working on it let me know, but just know the need for an older client. I should have it ready to accept people in the next day or so/

I was laying in bed last night and picked up a domain name for the server also. Not permanently decided but it just came to me so I grabbed it. It makes sense since this server will ultimately be a community of players that grows with different areas and activities to keep you entertained while online.
Yes actually today I managed to get a alpha copy of the new Minecraft server software so people with the latest clients can connect. Its still in development so it can go bad but as it gets revised it will get more stable and plugins will follow. Bad thing is since its so new there are no plugins quite ready for it yet but it will allow us to connect and build and start to design the server the way we want. I have tested it and it works, I am just waiting for my server host to update to the latest version which I sent them earlier today. Once they do then I will provide an IP to the people that were interested on this forum. Eventually maybe open it up to general public once security and other features are installed.
Im concerned about griefing so not sure how to monitor that right now. I might try to find/put together a simple plugin to protect areas.
Also I am thinking of a forum for both the server as well as a place for MCPE players to come talk.

In regards to the forum I would like to get Xenforo setup but that costs $140 and Im not quite sure if Im ready to spend that money yet until we have a community of people.

Its running fine on my Raspberry Pi so it should work just fine once they update it.
I have told them I need a way to reset the server so I do not need to contact them every time.... hopefully they resolve that issue since I will need to restart frequently as plugins are added and configured.
Let me try to do a couple more tweaks on it and I will send you guys the IP. It's nothing spectacular, just a blank canvas for us to build on.
The only thing really holding me back from putting up the IP is the need for setting up some sort of permissions to prevent bad people who join from running a muck on everything we build. With the new 1.0 MC there is not a permissions plugin I have found quite yet to work.
Does anyone that has replied to this post have any skills in plugins or web site development? Just curious.
I would join. 30 years old. Just started 4-5 months ago. I can build anything and I found out Im much more creative with this game than I expected. Ive been thinking the same thing you posted. I would start a server but I wouldn't want to or have the time to deal with a bunch of nonsense. If you could get like 20 adults to build up a survival world and just act normal it could be fun.

Your definitely welcome to play and look forward to having a good community.
My thought would be that there would be a creative world where you can "reserve" a spot and build whatever you wanted with creative permissions and know that it will not be deleted for as long as the server was alive.
Another world for the spawn area when you join the server and maybe areas you can "reserve" to build your own house or town expanding out from spawn not using creative resources.
Mining world for people to just go mine resources that gets reset regularly. Incorporate into an economy maybe... idk. Big dreams but basically a place you can do whatever you want. A place to live your MCPE life. If you want to be creative do it, pvp its there etc.
Its really wide open door as I am committed to the server as long as there is interest and players.
