Whenever i tap on a server in MCPE i lt says "unable to connect to world" and ive tried wifi aswell and other posts of this bug dont give me the anwser to fix
this issue and all the videos i look at say its my username but its not and i do not want to use any downloads to use servers. Please tell me how i can fix this because i really want to play multiplayer!
No i was never able to join servers before and the server/client is up to date and it is an android phone so i dont think it has firewalls and the ip/port is fine
Some routers have their own firewall. I dont think thats the problem though, but you might want to check that.
Have you tried to completelly remove MCPE (back up your worlds first) and then install it again?
Other that that im out of ideas.
You can submit the bug to the bugtracker, or ask for help at mcpe's subreddit.
Unable to connect is one of 5 potential bugs, i suggest going in this order to figure out the cause.
#1 cause builds, build version, your device maybe reporting a incorrect build number (This happens?), so uninstall minecraft and reinstall it, is it a pain yes it absolutely is but this can help one of 3 things, clear out a faulty install(or broken install), for re-installation of a new fresh copy purging any potential bugs, wipes applications cache which could have cache causing this issue, a and reverifying file integrity
#2 if Solution #1 doesn't work, its probably a network issue on your/the other persons end. Easy way to find out? Try connecting to a server you know works, IE after fresh install, connect to any active minecraft PE server, pocketmine, pe hosted server, win10 hosted server, or xbox live hosted server. If it connects we know its something on your end. But also we know it was a bug with the install build meaning solution 1 worked. If not proceed to step 3
#3 Solution #1 & 2 failed? Well then probably on your end, device could be old, damaged parts of the memory causing the read/write blocks of where app installed would fail to function properly, solution? Get new phone, or uninstall applications/free up internal device memory
#4 Solution 1, 2 and 3 failed? well now this goes back to a networking issue, perhaps your router/modem is not Plug n Play supportive, this means you need to manually open up a port, or setup your device to have a DMZ ip that is granted access to the outside net (meaning your exposing it with no security) thus allowing it to bypass everything and just work, if this fails, ultimately your device is at fault, and its probably faulty device memory, last resort solution is factory restore if that fails your device has burned up all its read/writes on the internal flash memory but i highly doubt you push 1-2tb of read/writes to the internal memory resulting in memory burn out.
#5 Solution 1, 2, 3, 4 failed? Or 4's to risky? Well try opening up a pocket mine server on your phone, on android market place install pocketmine, leave it run in background, now load up minecraft pe and connect to your pocketmine server hosted, if it connects, we know for a fact its a networking issue, and you should contact your network admin, system administrator, or if you have access rights, make the apropriate configurations to enable your device to communicate to the "outside world", but 9x out of 10 im leaning towards you dont have super anal security settings clogging up your network, but you never know could be old equipment to thats to blame (old modem/router that just doesn't support features), your prior post/statement implies that its probably unrelated to your equipment being old given it worked before possibly a network configuration, or as easy as a modem/router power cycle. Never hurts to give it a try though

Were you able to connect to those servers before?
There are many reasons that might prevent you from connecting to a server:
- Outdated server
- Outdated client
- Bad internet connection
- Firewalls
- Wrong IP, adress or port
- Somehow your MC broke

How do you back up worlds?
They should be in the internal storage/games/com.mojang/minecraftworlds
Just copy everything inside minecraftworlds folder to another location.
uninstall mcpe
delete everything else on the games folder
reinstall mcpe
put the worlds back in its place
That always works for me when my minecraft acts strange.
Any other way to fix Mcpe servers?
